i notice recently that there has gone from racism to "reverse" racism, there still IS racism, but very few people want to LOOK racist, so they go, well, we SHOULD do this, but they are a minority.if i was attacked by a black, i wouldn't be able to fight back without committing a "hate" crime not only is it stupid that "hate" crimes only apply to when a white attacks a person in a minority, but even in self defense it is a "hate" crime. i mean, really, im a bigot against bigots. and if i was attacked and won the fight, i would be racist??!?!?!?! |

burbi, I used to live in the big sleazy for 5 years. This is WHY im a white racist bigot! I used to be neutral to the whole situation till I lived in the middle of REVERSE discrimination, plus the drugs and crime. So any of you 9 to 5 accountants from Connecticut out there who want to question what I have to say, just realize I LIVED in "the hood" with "the niggaz" for a HALF decade until I got my mind together and realized making 20% of what I was used to, in order to live in a quiet hometown setting in NE PA is a drating BARGAIN in the big picture of life....walk in my drating shoes before you judge on my opinions!! |

POY- I speak about this story in particular because it lies to close to my heart. I was raised in Knoxville, I went to UT and I know some of the people involved personally. I agree it does happen to other races, but you must agree that if 4 white boys had done this to a black couple the media attention would be outrageous to this day, and of course Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson would be parading the streets of Knoxville. White, Indians, Latinos, Arabs, etc etc dont have such public ans outspoken persons to be ourtraged for us so we are left to speak out ourselves and that is what I am doing. Am I racist? Absolutely not. I am stating the obvious cold hard truth. |

The silence is deafening on this one."While living in New Orleans I happened upon Jesse Jacksons radio show on a Sunday morning ( I think). Let me tell you, it is absolutel no damn secret, that man is as racist as they come. Without him actually coming out and saying it, he makes it very clear. Even on his program he states almost verbatum how his show is for black people only, and he only helps the black cause, etc. I usually don't listen to such nonsense, but I honestly wanted to hear for myself what I had heard from other people. I think that guy actually believes that he is not racist though. It's a mental illness to not know when you are a racist. |

CC911, you're right- they should, and likely will, fry. you know though, for every story that has a white person the victim of media discrimination, there are examples of media discrimination against non-white people also. The exact opposite of what you're complaining about is also complained about.It goes both ways. So until we can live in a world free of any discrimination, the next best thing would be to have discrimination at least happen equally to all sides. It's right to speak out and stop this sort of bias, but don't pick and choose, I hope you speak out the same way about other cases of discrimination when its not involving a white victim. |

I completely missed how Africa applies to this story, but since it was brought up I will through my loose change in... I believe in helping others, whole heartedly... but I refuse to send my money to another country when we have so many starving and suffering people right here in our own backyards. America is no longer the land of opportunity, or milk and honey for that matter. Donate to an orphange, a soup kitchen, Salvation Army, Habitat for Humanity, whatever you like, but charity starts at home. |

i'm really annoyed by people thinking africa is the only poor country. in places almost any other country in the world you wouldn't want to vacation to, you have a no middle class and a huge divide between the rich and the poor and starving people on the streets.
i agree that we should try harder to help its just that africa doesn't deserve all the attention. |
