Last time I checked, this story has nothing to do with Hurricane Katrina. None of the people in this story lived there, nor have any connection to it. I understand it was brought up as an example of racism, but let it go already.

Not to be rude but that was there personal choice. Thats what makes this country America. Even though I think that it was an idiotic move on the residence that stayed, that doesn't give the government any reason why those people wern't helped sooner and better.

I want everyone who says that only black/other people are victims of racism and such... I want them to take this story... roll it up... and shove it up their ass.

Lonewolf, it agree with rn. Its not like they could pull a car out of there back pocket and a lot less people probably would have died if the government had acted more quickly about the matter. Heck, our own president didn't even go down there until 3 month or so AFTER Katrina.

You know... that speaker has a few great points, but I LOVE his final one about the Reverends there. They're all about equality for the African Americans, but whenever it is that someone of that race does something wrong, they turtle themselves.

Yeah I got stationed in Belle Chasse two weeks before Katrina and I lost everything. But I didn't have to live in a trailer due to the military.

I got a nice humanitarian award for lifting these morons off of roofs though.

okay ready, the people of new orleans were told to evacuate but most refused to and thats why this all happened, shut the drat up and listen to what you're told to do. last time i checked, you learn in kindergarten that if you're warned about something bad and still get hurt you have no1 to blame but yourself.

A true and genuine Katrina victim myself, I had to laugh at those who received what I did from the government and Red Cross, prob 10 to 12K including the FEMA trailer that was GIVEN to me, then continually BITCH at the fact that the government wasn't giving them enough to get back on their feet! HEY...here's a thought, one that I had at least. There's this thing called insurance. Let me spell that for you. I-N-S-U-R-A-N-C-E.

burbl, what i ment by "reverse" racism is that people don't want to do anything about it because they are white and the victim was white but the person who did it was a minority,

all i am saying is that it has changed from people not caring about what happens to blacks, to people not caring what happens to whites(if done by blacks)

just figured i should clear things up a bit

Yeah I laughed at all the hubub that was Katrina. All the people living off the Gubment made me laugh as well with all their complaining and all. I loved it when Atlanta and Houston crime rates sky-rocketed when all these people evacuated to those areas. Typical...

Thugs didn't know what real thugs were until they saw a New Orleans thug.

THUG LIFE BITZES FOR REALZ!!

Decency from the media? lol C'mon..seriously? And Michael Savage is one to talk...yes this deserved attention..but c'mon...one seriously expects the media to report this?

Let's be honest here, the media is in their business to make money. Thats the truth.

For my own peace of mind, living near the "Big Sleazy" was NOT worth the $100,000 salary increase I received by living there. I make only $30,000 in NE PA and have 10,000x the happiness I did with living in that poo hole and making good money!

burbl, I miss the fried catfish, mufalatas, and New Orleans daiquiris, and yes, getting a case of beer of fifth of booze on Sunday at 4 a.m. I DO NOT miss looking behind my back every second I was in public, carrying a 9mm to the convenience store to get gas, when my ex was 15 minutes late wondering if she was alive or had been killed for the hundred bucks she had on her. It was THE most miserable life anyone could imagine. Katrina was a godsend!

"i notice recently that there has gone from racism to "reverse" racism, there still IS racism, but very few people want to LOOK racist, so they go, well, we SHOULD do this, but they are a minority."

There is no such thing as "reverse racism". It's all the same thing no matter who or what it comes from.

"burbi, I used to live in the big sleazy for 5 years. This is WHY im a white racist bigot!"

I understand completely and don't blame you at all. I used to live on Esplanade in an old mansion (once owned by a Saints player) that got turned into a rat trap apartment complex currently owned by an old Thai man. I had to stick my glock in a persons face on more than one occasion.

I worked as a bouncer at the Bourbon Cowboy and was packing every night I walked into that job from the parking garage. That entire city is a cespool before and after Katrina. The only thing I miss from there is the food and the fact that you can party any night of the week. (real bloody mary's... I'd kill for one right now)
