why the hell are you bringing up michael vick? dogs play a very different role in black culture compared to white culture. they're used as often as a weapon as they are a pet. and anyway rich white people do f*cked up sh*t too so that point is meaningless. |

Also, if this is about what kinds of crimes are heinous enough to be put on the news, then there's WHOLE tons of room for debate about that. Does having acid being thrown on ones face count as terrible enough? Woman has acid thrown on her
And if we're going to start talking about old stories not being brought to justice, hell, lets just start talking about the '50s, '40s, '30s, '20s, and maybe we can even get to good old colonial times, eh? The fact is humanity has been constantly, constantly doing many wrongs unto itself, and this is simply no different. Besides, it's not like there was a BIG SEARCH FOR THESE CRIMINALS. They've already got them, it's a story from January TWOTHOUSANDSEVEN. Really guys, really? |

i wasnt avoiding it, i said that i agree with the poverty thing, it sucks, not all blacks are violent, but it also isn't just a poverty thing, like i was saying before, i loved mike vick but even though he was rich he still had to fight dogs and make money off of a terrible thing that only scum would be involved in. |

SugaredSins, everyone has a last name, in the United States at least, or unless legally changed. The police department most likely did not release their last names to the public. That or you didn't try hard enough to look for them. |

i'm not saying that these people are not responsible for their actions, i'm saying that their actions are not influenced by their race. and yeah, the american dream, everyone can be rich as sh*t and happy forever. not only is it difficult to rise out of poverty, but a lot of these people are so pissed at being treated like dirt by the upper classes that they have no desire to join them. being poor is not a bad thing. |

i agree with lesmith, being poor doesnt mean you have to stay that way, and being a criminal won't help that, it's hard not to be a product of society, but that doesn't mean it's impossible. |

I don't see why this blew up anyway, blame the media for hyping up stupid details!Then blame the sheep who fell for it! I don't know how it is obv, but i have two mates who worry coz they're the only black girls on our course, and they need to look good... Well they don't need to...and no-one would go "oh it's coz they're black", but at least they are working against the sterotype instead of doing stuff like this, and encouraging stupid people to justify their racism |
