Rims are pretty, and they make a car look cool. Who cares if they're practical?

And AWWWW those kids are so freaking cute! I can so see them being the next popular thing.

and my friends kid watched it with me (She's like..five) And was all. "OOh they're hot!" >.<

and zoneking, my family is living proof that not all blacks are included in your warped sense of what black culture is. for u to say black culture is "trying to compensate for years of opression by 'having stuff'" means you only see one side of the story and refuse to accept anything else about it. yes we (my family) try to better ourselves but not because our history, but because everyone deserves better as well as to live in today's society. i don't know if you do this but i know that i would rather have a nice house or car than something run down if i can get it. you got a lot of nerve to group everyone of the black color into that notion.

Angel25: what i mean is that calling black (or white or asian or whatever) people a race is what is racist. You and me, and every body else for that matter, are human (not a black or a white, but humans). You are perpetuating racial stereotypes by referring to people with the very word race. Black is not a race, it's pigmentation. But people strive for these sort of retarded in groups, and that's why we have many problems with racism and xenophobic behaviors.
[/preachy mode]

As for the cultural thing, like it or not, i think that's how many see it. The whole hip hop culture is often associated with north American black culture, you calling everybody racists won't change that.

i agree with angel25. i am black and can actually say that not everyone of a specific color think and act in the same way. i for one think rims and other car decorations are the stupidest things on the planet but some of my friends want the biggest they can find. its not fair to judge someone based on their color and the common sterotypes associated with it. everyone is his or her own individual and should be treated as such.

"re these kids, average age 11, the next Flo Ridas. Or Wu Tang Clan?"

They're the next crack dealers for their neighborhood.

I see absolutely no efficient or practical reason for "rims" to exist.

Really, gentlemen, I don't have issues with anyone but I do feel offended when ANY race is insulted or stereotyped. It's not easy for people to hear or see these stereotypes about their own race, whether mixed or whatever. So if offense was taken by my comments or my debate with you, then I apologize, no offense was intended.

Zoneking and Megido, Seriously? You two are judging someone you don't even know. And what in the world was racist about what I said? I was taking a neutral stand stating that you cannot judge all blacks based upon what you see. AND that whites are NO DIFFERENT from blacks or anyone else.

AND RAP and RIMS is NOT a part of the BLACK culture. It may be for some but it is NOT for all. My husband is from New Orleans and he is nothing like what they portray BLACKS to be.

Zoneking, I never said I knew/saw everything. I said I know both sides of the fence. I personally don't care what race you are. GOD made you and everything else is null and void.

Like I said, Opinions are just that. And I respect your opinions, however I don't respect that you feel a need to lump all "blacks" together in one category.

I mean, seriously? Are you that intent on arguing with me just because I said that you cannot put all blacks in one category? If that's racist on my part then so be it. <

I have to agree with zoneking a bit. I can understand peoples being proud of their culture and heritage. After all we celebrate St. Patrick's Day, Cinco de Mayo, Oktoberfest, Chinese New Year, Mardi Gras, and numerous other ethically originated holiday's. But now he we have black history month, MLK Jr's Birthday, etc.. Many blacks not contented with that, It seems, They continuously re-invent "Blackness" in more and more absurd ways. If America is truly a "Melting Pot" they seem to refuse it. Choosing to segregate themselves with their own, While continuing to blame others for their non-integration into the rest of American society.

Angel: the one perpetuating racism here is you, i must say, as you are the only one claiming that black and white are different races.

I'd say that this video here represents something that can be seen as black culture in America (note that that does not include ever black person ever per default), and i assume that's what zoneking meant as well, though he might have expressed it a bit bluntly.

You also need some reading lessons "angel25". I didn't accuse you of calling me a racist. Although you're doing a good job sounding inflammatory just to make a point. And I said nothing of whites not being similar. Where I live it is the blacks that are choosing to live this lifestyle, it is the blacks that are using opression as an excuse to get that government grant, or to push to the front of the line. It is the blacks that are creating this "illusion" of grandure by possessing things which they don't need, but which the outside world sees them with. They think they are flaunting some type of "wealth" when they thump their stereos and put wagon wheels on their vehicles, but to the outsider it makes them look nothing more than ignorant fools. It all falls back to "read a book, get a job."
Finally Ms. "biracial family - I know everything", what color am I, since you know/see all?

Laughable as the statement was "if the truth hurts honey, you'll have to look elsewhere for a bandage" I must tell you that you sound bitter.

I don't need a bandage for your remarks, an opinion is just that. However, if you cannot take someone making a disagreement to your opinions then you shouldn't be in an open forum. I know what blacks do. And I know how they blame things on whites or whoever else they can. But seeing as how I come from biracial parents I know both sides and honestly whites are not any better than blacks or any other race.

Everyone is responsible for his/her own outcome in life and cannot blame anyone else.

Seriously, if that's how you feel about the black race though, you need a new profession. Stop visiting their homes and getting ticked off at their life choices. It's their life. Let them wallow in their own stupidity. It's not your life.

And for the record, I said "the racist remarks". I never accused you as a person of BEIN

Obama won't bring a damn bit of change. I will be shocked if he makes it to his inauguration without an attempt on his life. Hell, even blacks were admitting on national television that they only voted for him because of his color for christs sake!!!

And regarding my remarks being racist... if the truth hurts honey, you'll have to look elsewhere for a bandage. I'm only telling it like I see it every day. If a black is downtrodden, it's because of the white man. If a black is successful, it was because he crawled through the dirt on his belly to make his life the way it was... the same as the rest of us.

Honestly I don't care if you're a black, white, yellow or purple... a redneck, jew, muslim or hindu. If are too busy being a thug, wannabe gangster, drug dealer, welfare recipient or other drain on society take some initiative and do something CONSTRUCTIVE with your life. Get a g**damn education, read some g**damn books and take PART in the world we're given. Don't p!ss it away!!

And as for the video, this type of influence on any child no matter what color is sickening. There is more to life and more to the world than shiny pieces of metal on your tires. Seriously. I don't teach my kids this and definately don't waste money on ridiculous things. Shelter, Food, Clothing, Keeping the Car mobile, and occasionaly nice toys. Outside of that, you're going overboard with kids. Mom of 3, not just talking out my behind

WOW Zoneking you sound as if you know "blacks" very well. Unfortunately, you didn't look at the other side of the fence. Not all "Blacks" are like that. Just like not all whites are gun toting, tobacco spitting red necks who drive dusty pick-ups and call their wife "Ma" or "my old lady". The Racist remarks are just deplorable

Here is yet another prime example of black culture trying to compensate for years of opression by "having stuff". It doesn't matter that they can't afford to feed their families, or have to break the law to make the money for their hobbies.
I visit houses each day for my work, and there is something unmistakably different when I visit the home of a black person.
I pull into the yard, and they have some lexus, cadillac or infiniti sitting in the yard. Who cares if the vehicle isn't new, who cares if it's 15 years old!! Hey it's a "high end" car.

Blacks purchase whatever they can to try and live as "large" as possible. Renting furniture and electronics from ridiculously priced rental stores that they can't afford to buy (or don't have the proper credit to finance with) They tend to forget that the run-down house that their 72" TV's and big stereo systems are in is where they really come from. Over-compensation at it's finest. Get a grip people
