Wow... I watched this plus a few more videos by the same cleric. No wonder westerners look at Muslims with the eyes they do.... I am not saying that all Muslims are that backward, and in fact I have met quite a few forward thinking ones... however beating a woman? assuming that all western women are loose or immoral because some refuse to name the father on the child birth certificate? or that we have no morals because we aren't all Muslim? Perhaps this can be said the same of fundamentalist christians as well...
All the same, we have a lot of work to do in regard to making peace with the muslims |

As for the "common sense" answer: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Domestic_vi...It seems 22% of women are abused in the states. Whilst that might tie in to quite how much common sense there is in the states, I doubt it. |

wait wait... if abortion is murder then isnt killing an insect or any other thing murder too. people dont think twice about killing spiders because they are scared of them, but yet if a mother wants an abortion its a different story. I dont understand how it makes a difference what the thing is that got killed, killing is murder. |

sorry, what I mean to say there at the end is that the child is separate being, even if it is dependent on the mother or inside of her, it is NOT part of the woman's body, but instead a separate person. (think of siamese twins- its not ok for one to kill the other, even if they are attached. Weird example, but similar if think of it) |

neilyo, you do have a point- I am very thankful for the healthcare system in the US and that many women are saved each year. It is also great to hear that abortion rates have dropped. But I still know many people who think of abortion very casually, like 'Oops, I got pregnant, no big deal I'll just get rid of it'. I think it would be better to widely encourage adoption as an option. But it is a complex problem without easy answers- I just want people to be aware that no matter what the situation/country/percentages/reasons, abortion is killing and so women should consider that. As far as it being the woman's choice, once the kid is born it doesn't have capability to live on its own, so is it still her choice? What if she decides at age 2 she can't take it- is it ok to kill the kid? Just think about it... |

blackbird, you act as if every other woman in America or other westernized societies has had an abortion, but in fact the number is rather low compared to other regions of the world (Global Abortion Rates Worldwide Abortion Rates to cite a couple of sources). The main problem with this video is that it is an entirely different culture that many people aren't used to. Muslim and Arab people still have abortions, just like everyone else, the people here are objecting to this kind of cruelty against anyone. And as for the part about killing a pregnant woman being 2 murders, my opinion on that is a woman should have the right to control something that is in her body, but no one else can say what she |

It's ironic how so many of you are outraged at the thought of beating a woman or child or even animal, but when it comes to abortion, very few people protest the idea of ripping a live child into peices for the convenience of the mother. Just a different form of abuse, really. Oh, wait, its actually murder. But that's acceptable in American, Christian society- we're so much more humane that other cultures, we don't beat anyone, we just kill them before they're born if we feel like it. (for those of you who are going to say the fetus us part of the womans body, then why is a murder charged with 2 deaths if he kills a pregnant woman? Beating heart= human being). If your going to be defensive about human rights, don't forget unborn humans. |

The problem with these people is that their idea of a Utopian society is the the 8th century C.E. If that's where they're aiming, how are they going to shoot any higher? Islam needs to have a modernizing social revolution, but all the sane Muslims will be killed by barbarous pigs like the man in the video if they speak out. It's a bit of a catch 22. |

No to my knowledge there isn't a standard in Christianity regarding "how to Beat Your Wife" Largely because it's understood that you Just Don't Do It. A very primitive culture. A culture that still gives into the notion of power for the few. No democracy for the people. Inherited political power. Man over woman with crude dominance. No one allowed to drink alcohol unless of course you one of the leaders in the palaces in which case all pleasures are yours including multiple wives and servants. To think they only had spitting camels and no toilet paper 60 years ago and now that shell has pumped up the oil they happened to be sitting on find themselves obscenely rich, free to indulge their trivial desires and whims. A unique happenstance in human history. The self importance of the clowns in this video speak very ill to the rest of the world about their society. |

You're not allowed to hit children in Islam unless they don't read the Quran, and even then nothing more that a few slaps to discipline. You can only beat your wife if she's having an affair and you've warned her several times but she still refuses to stop, and you don't want to divorce her. If you divorce her it's your job to keep her in the house and give her food for 3 months, and then she can marry whoever. The 3 month rule made sense back in the day because you couldn't always tell if a woman was pregnant before, plus if it took time to sort out living arrangements for her |

First off, stop acting like you only have the choice between the CHRISTIAN WAY and the ISLAMIC WAY. You KNOW there is more to it than that.The main thing is... wifey gets beaten, kids can get beaten, BUT THE HUSBAND NEVER DOES, DOES HE? In other words boys and girls, the women and kids are beneath the man, and he in actuallity can do anything he wants. We in western society DO actually have laws to try and even things out, even if it does not work perfectly. So, stop harping like whiny idiots about how naughty the west is when you watch a video about how to beat your wife in the middle east, 'k? |
