Wednesday, November 26, 2008 6:53:55 PM I used to really hate family gatherings, but now that I live 3000 miles away from my family I wish I could be there. I'm going to be making my own thanksgiving semi-feast tomorrow for my little family of 2. Chances are I'm not going to start dinner until 5 or so, I'll get a call from my family back home and then I'll hang out on IAB the rest of the night. it'll work. |

Wednesday, November 26, 2008 3:18:27 PM Electronic devices that are meant to entertain the youth of today aren't allowed at our family get togethers.. My nazi-wannabe Grandmother won't allow them. I'll be without my laptop. :( So if any one from IAB wants to head over to Ohio and save me from hell on earth.. that'd be great. |

Wednesday, November 26, 2008 9:14:37 AM Canada FTW, see we actually realized we should have thnaksgiving WHEN THERE IS ACTUALLY FOOD TO BE HARVESTED, instead of when its -3 degrees (Centigrade of course) and all the crops are dead |

Wednesday, November 26, 2008 8:46:02 AM Tomorrows ganna suck. My family is soo f*cked up. Maybe I should just call, say I'm sick and act like I just threw up..... Just felt like writing stuff that rhymed. But really... I'm ganna have to see my 16 year old cousin and her boyfriend who is like 19... and then I'm going to have to see my other cousin who me and him had a phone fight a few months ago and haven't talked since then.. oh and his Bisexual girlfriend (which is nothing bad I guess) and I'm going to be seeing my alcoholic aunt... (she's the one cooking). There's more.... oh soo much more. I won't be on IAB tomorrow... Let just hope I live to see it again. |

Wednesday, November 26, 2008 7:30:38 AM mmm.. favourite Thanksgiving dishes... Well, sweet potato and apple casserole is top, followed closely by home-made cranberry sauce, stuffing with gravy, and then the Turkey. When I did Thanksgiving with my grandparents we used to start off with a soup course as well which was always scrumptious, though it varied every year. And my aunts, uncles, cousins, parents, and I would always have snacks while dinner was being cooked as we sat around chit chatting and catching up. The best of which was the grapefruit acting as a stand for toothpicks with roostertail onions, cheese, oysters, and anchovies. (The last two items I didn't touch, but I'd attack all the roostertail onions.) |

Wednesday, November 26, 2008 7:01:33 AM Well I guess I just haven't had it as often as everyone else has. I'm more of a stuffing lover, myself. ^^ Actually the turkey is probably the last on my list to hit my plate. |

Wednesday, November 26, 2008 6:47:02 AM @ Nidonemo - You haven't had sweet potatoes and marshmallows yet? Oh. Your. God.Dude, you're seriously missing out. It always ends up being my favorite dish at the table during Thanksgiving. I don't know the details, but I think it's largely the same recipe as in the article minus the bourbon.
