Monday, December 01, 2008 12:08:27 AM ok heres my take on those with severe mental disabilities. they have a very VERY small chance of becoming corrupted. meaning that they will most likely stay pure at heart. you think that your better than they just because you think their stupid?! well i got news for you bigots like you are the stupid ones. oh my bad i will speak bigot. DURRR I THINK ME BETTER THAN OTHER PEOPLE CUZ I DONT LIKE THEM. WTF IS WRONG WITH YOU?! just because they have a disability does not mean your better. seriously this is one reason why i refer to humanity as retarded monkeys. excluding the mentally disabled and ones who actually care for others and the enviroment. im glad that most of the comments here are insulting the bigots here. i hope you bigots die a slow and painful death. |

Wednesday, November 26, 2008 11:59:48 PM fluffyhoobI feel your sons pain, I've been dealing with having Aspergers for 18 years...most of those without even knowing what the hell was wrong with me, and I can tell you now that I f*cking hate it. I get up every day wishing I could somehow become normal, but knowing that all the medicine in the world can't help me. So all I can say is good luck, you sound like a very understanding parent and I only hope you can help your son deal with it in a better way than my own parents have for me. |

Wednesday, November 26, 2008 5:29:32 PM tie_died Don't hate something just because you don't understand it yet.spot on. my 6 year old son has Aspergers. He is INCREDIBLY smart and is one of the top students in his class. what lets him down atm is the fact he has only just been diagnosed and not enough people understand autism and so tend to treat him like a neuro-typical kid when he does wrong..which he doesn't respond to as he is not neuro-typical. i never knew anything about autism and would have probably looked at an autistic kid having a tantrum the same as people look at my son. but i am proud of him and he WILL do well. as did steven spielberg, einstein (apparently) and several other people with autism and other mental conditions who are SUPERIOR to dannydanko imho |

Wednesday, November 26, 2008 9:00:17 AM Those people will be spending a long time in jail for their actions. The government doesn't take it easy when you commit fraud against them. Spending her disability checks on themselves will get them what they deserve.DannyDanko, your a d!ck. |

Tuesday, November 25, 2008 8:15:53 AM poor girl, no one deserves that. If they didn't want to take care of her they should have handed her over to the state or something, at least then she could have a better life. |

Monday, November 24, 2008 5:22:20 PM DannyDanko, not trying to drag up any fights that were dying down, but..When you're talking about mentally disabled people like that, you are talking about kids I happened to love and know very well. Like I had said before, just because they are mentally disabled does not mean that they will never learn, and that they will be useless nothings their whole lives, it's just that it takes them longer to learn. Where we learn to count to a hundred when we are eight, they learn how to do it when they're fourteen. It doesn't mean that they CAN'T learn, they just have to work at it a bit longer. They are brilliant in their own ways. One autistic boy I know will remember any birthday that he reads, hears, or sees. Another boy can do HUGE puzzles faster then you'll be able to believe. |

Monday, November 24, 2008 12:58:36 AM wow this is really sad. My brother was mentally ill and my whole family spent thousands of dollars a year on keeping him in hospitals. |

Monday, November 24, 2008 12:29:13 AM Lol wow there was a bit of a flame war going on down below there... not really fussed about all that. Fact of the matter is, this sucks for the poor woman. I hope those other two people get royally screwed. Treating anyone at all like that is unacceptable, disabled or not. |

Sunday, November 23, 2008 11:05:01 PM Late post, sorry. Arguing over the superiority is pretty useless in conversation. It's such a subective topic, and there is no clear anwer. If you want to go by the Kantian view, all human beings are considered equal, and to consider one more important than another is to deny a person their autonomy as a person. Basically, any person is inheritly valuable because they are a person. If you want to go by a utilitarian view (I suppose it would go under that category), people are valued by what they can do. Though Danny is being a total dick about it, he does seem to support a rather common philosophy. Whether he can back it properly is another question. |

Sunday, November 23, 2008 9:27:51 PM Applying the concept of inferiority to people, based on IQ or any criterion, is dangerous - think about it, what is considered inferior? It's very subjective. For example, not too long ago, women were considered inferior to men and why? No good reason really as it turns out. Every person is different. Just because a person has a low IQ (according to tests which are fairly biased by the way), doesn't make that person mentally incapacitated. For example, look at the autistic savant - someone who is incredibly good at performing mathematics or playing the piano, but cannot function as well in social situations. Every person has a place in society - it is up to us to find and accept that place. Don't hate something just because you don't understand it yet. |

Sunday, November 23, 2008 7:40:02 PM This makes me wonder how many regulars on IAB are posting from their own private backyard shanty. From here I can see at least two serious possibilities. |
