Monday, November 03, 2008 5:13:31 AM The most depressing part of it is, if her mom has Alzheimer's, that means Lisa has a good chance of inheriting it too. |

Sunday, November 02, 2008 11:37:56 PM This is a really sad movie. But it strikes so close to home, as one of my good friends father has alzheimers, she and her twin brother have had to take care of each other since their mother died when they were 10. They both work full time jobs, and take turns taking care of their father. and It has pretty much gotten to the point where if one of them loses their job, the other will have to quit school to get a second full time job to make ends meet. But one of the things that she has told me, is that when something like this happens to a young child, that child learns to grow up very quickly, and from other people I have met that have faced similar difficulties, when this happens, that child will be one of the most prepared for the hardships in life later on. |

Sunday, November 02, 2008 9:48:08 PM Danny, that's sadly what a lot of kids and family have to put up with. It does annoy and strain and grain into them, but the person is unaware of it. To them, it may seem like this random person has invaded their home.Or perhaps it's like this: You wake up one day, and out of the blue you find all these strangers in your house, and all they do is go about your home as if it were theirs! They eat your food, they take a shower in your bathroom, and they even take a shi*t in YOUR toilet! And the moment you DEMAND they leave or else you're calling the police, they look at you with eyes that well up with tears...and they try to convince you, that they are your family.

Sunday, November 02, 2008 8:49:00 PM This was part of contest on youtube when Juno first came out. People were supposed to make a vid about a kid dealing with problems beyond their maturity... or something along those lines. I think this won second place. It shoulda got first. Good but sad story. |

Sunday, November 02, 2008 8:25:55 PM I honestly believe that alzheimers is a worse disease than cancer. With cancer, you may die, but you know who your family is and you know that they love you. With Alzheimers, you forget who your closest friends and family members are and even in great physical health you can never truly enjoy life. We would be nothing without memories. I hate how cancer gets so much more hype in the media. with cancer, you're dying, but you still have a life. With severe alzheimers, it's hard to call it that. |
