The only reason so many people on here are pissed is because they are going to vote for Obama. This is no different than the super religious Christian freaks voting Republican because that is all they know. If they listened to the issues, they would understand that Republicans don't care about people who make under $200,000 a year. |

Are you kidding me? Wow this is why we get screwed in elections becasuse people vote for the people they think have their views but they end up voting for the opposite. Seriously I don't even know much about politics myself. i'm not even voting this election because I was too late to register. (my bad I know). But I still keep up with some of their points and these people ARE voting and don't even know who the F*ck their voting for. I just..I don't know...i'm just shocked beyond words. I would love fo Obama to win but I want the votes to be fair. |

95% of the blacks are voting for Obama. And it's not because they agree with his policies. They are proof that Darwin was right: they, more than anyone else, are proof that apes were their ancestors. They have been in this country for 300 years and they still can't speak English. |

This was done by Rick Mercer about a decade ago in Canada, called "Talking to Americans." He made up false stories about Canada AND the USA, and showed how ignorant that people were about politics and Canada-US relations in the united states. All this proves is that people don't listen. |

"the Act prohibited states from imposing any "voting qualification or prerequisite to voting, or standard, practice, or procedure ..."
It's part of the law. Which shoud be tweaked a bit. Yeah nothing about race :D

Whoa whoa whoa.. hold on there six, you took his comments WAY out of context, thats for sure.Ill try to clarify so you can see it differently. #1 the "uninformed" quote. Basically he is trying to say, if someone that doesn't know something, shouldnt be deciding how things are done. If you have a 4 year old strategize on how to run a nuclear power plant, its the same thing. They are uninformed on how to properly run it, they dont know. He is saying that people that don't know what the candidates want, shouldn't decide which candidate should win. #2 "some people shouldnt vote" Referring to people that dont vote because someone is good or qualified, but vote based only on race/creed/religion etc etc. These people care less about the country, but more about seeing "someone other then republican/democrat run the office!" I hope that helped. |

I just have a problem with people voting in any particular way for any reason other than facts and whether they agree with the policies and platforms the candidate supports.
Also... I was (at least mostly) joking. You can't put a standard on who is allowed to vote regarding intelligence or awareness. However, it is frustrating to hear so many ignorant people who are actually involved in the process. I might be pleased that there are Obama supporters who are planning on voting (that is my candidate of choice, BTW) but it doesn't make me any less disgusted at their ignorance. |

I think some people should not be allowed to vote.Voting should be viewed as a privilege and not a right Those who refuse to be uninformed should not influence the future. Lauraly I think they should or at least demonstrate some degree intelligence. The voting rights act of 1965 should be amended |
