Screw the pool table! That's where I'll hide the bodies!

you'd have to dig a hole under the floor just for the table to go into. you have to buy all that mechanical stuff just for it to work. and the people with enough money to do all that - you'd think they'd just buy another house with more room... i find it more of a hassle than convenient...

Kinda funny how people rich enough to afford some crazy system like that (as well as the pool table) would already have a big enough house to store the pool table. So, the contraption is not very useful

if you got under that pool table and then lowered it then it would be the perfect place to hide from people, cops, and intruders.

But what do they do with the big empty space?

And yeah, what if they DO have a kid?

What if they have kids?

"Sweety, have you seen the baby?"
"Yeah, I saw him playing under the pool tab- OH poo!!!"
And then they find him half eaten by underground vultures.

Nice. Because someone who can't afford a bigger house will have enough money to excavate their living room, install a winch to pull the floor open, and buy a hydraulic lift. This has to be at least $80,000 for supplies and labor.
