Thursday, September 18, 2008 12:14:16 AM This guy is good! A lot like John Butler Trio. Awesome stuff. Seen JBT live a few times and at the last each band member gave a long solo. Amazing. |

Wednesday, September 17, 2008 9:53:27 PM this type of guitar playing is called fingerstyle. There's actually quite a few extremely talented artists, Andy Mckee, Justin King, to name a couple.I would kill to have that talent. |

Wednesday, September 17, 2008 12:41:33 PM The main thing thats different about his guitar is it's much like a Chapman Stick, it's got an extremely low action, which allows for a lot more precision and dynamic control over how he's playing. Other than that, it's like playing 6 pianos at once, really. Hammering on and pulling off notes, strumming partially, quickly tapping the harmonics. It would take a lot of practise to get anywhere near his level of that style of playing. |

Tuesday, September 16, 2008 5:29:37 PM Not too many people can pull that off. (Eh? Eh?)On a side note, pretty fantastic playing. Really hard to do without amplification, and I'm pretty sure he's got some kind of amp on that thing. |

Tuesday, September 16, 2008 5:24:13 PM There is nothing special about his guitar, he is however using an alternative or open tuning. It is difficult to play that way, but with lots of practice it can be done. I have achieved a little sucess with this style, but no where near what he can do. |

Tuesday, September 16, 2008 5:22:39 PM I would cry repost, but it was posted like 2-3 years ago, so I don't care. Still awesome! Still makes me look at my guitar and want to punch myself in the face. |

Tuesday, September 16, 2008 4:56:50 PM aniray, use harmonics, a plugged in guitar, and a pick helps (take the top of the pick and hit it against the strings inbetween frets. not sure if its considered tapping) |
