"It's like a kid getting a new car. He only appreciates it and takes care of it if he bought it himself."

The only way a country becomes truly free is if they fight for their freedom themselves.

It's like a kid getting a new car. He only appreciates it and takes care of it if he bought it himself.

This "we're helping the Iraqis out" is a bunch of bullpoo. In the end, we're not helping them. We'll set up a democracy, sure, but we all know it'll fall in 2 years because the Iraqis didn't fight for it themselves and won't fight for it when another fascist regime challenges the power of the new democracy.

And as a disclaimer (word count cut me off):

I can not speak about the war experiences better or even anywhere near to how this man can. He has the upper hand.

...So all respect to him.

I don't think that going into the war being a mistake means that the soldiers are demeaned. Obviously I can't say that he isn't disrespected or pretend to know what the war is like better than him, but just because the people want it doesn't mean that our being there is helping.

In fact, statistics (No, I won't go look for them, this isn't a formal debate) are saying that the people are getting more and more upset with American occupation.

I understand that their situation is unfair. It's more than unfair, it's unjust and inhumane. However, I don't think there is a country big enough to go in and fix the situation without using up all of it's resources and being in occupation for a ridiculous amount of time. That's no help to anyone involved.

Getting in the middle of tensions that have been raging for literally hundreds of years was not a good idea. We weren't big enough and we still aren't to have a good fix, and it appears to me that it's either fix it or don't touch it.

"then who was it sponsered by?"

The guy who made it. I think I browsed through another one where he talks about economic policies.

And for yellowsquare, if it makes you feel any better that video is sort of like the HP commercials. No prosthetic leg.

I guess I have to say it - The Iraq war WAS a mistake. We have terrible things going on in our own country, so how can we afford to try and fix other nations? Get our own in acceptable shape first - and then we can help others. You can't help others unless you are in a fit state to do it. We are not in a fit state to help the Iraqi people.

*puuuuuuuuuuuuuuke*

This was almost respectable until the end when they cue the pooty Lee Greenwood calamity of a song.

And the limping away on a prosthetic leg was a little too much "corny". I almost suffocated from the fake patriotism.
