Retard means held back or something doesnt it, so to be retarded is to be held back by a mental or even physical disability would it not?if im right people who use the term retarded to describe something stupid are severly....erm |

I think the word 'retard' should just be erased from the English language. Many people use it as slang, while others see it as describing a person with disabilities. Either way, it's still offensive, isn't it?
I'm sure using the term "disabled" is a lot nicer than "retard". |

Ok, if I call someone a 'turd or a retard or somthiong, sure it's rude. Like if I said "Is that kid a retard?" I should be slapped in the face.
Now, if I said, "Does that person have a learniong/mental disability" or "has/suffers from a mentel retardation" not so.
Although I I am anti-PC, som things may need stricker or less strict limits. IN the care of the word 'retarded', it needs to be more....is definite the word

And if I can briefly point something else out, 4EVA (at risk of being accused of sucking fancy's d*ck). The guy was taking offence at the post title "Retarded form of Parkour". Well f*ck me, it was retarded. Retarded in the sense that 99% of interwebbers know the term, i.e. stupid. If this guy wants to get on his hobby horse every time someone uses the word "retarded" because he has a daughter with Special Needs (no self-respecting father should call his own child retarded as fancy pointed out, why not just call them a spastic while they're at it?), then he deserves to be ridiculed. Where do you draw the line? Let me paint another example: "I would just like to complain about the post which said 'Your a Fag', as a derogatory term of insult to the previous poster. My son is a homosexualist, and therefore could accurately be described as "A Fag" and therefore I take great offence to this blah blah blah." In both cases, the poster is a douche |
