Friday, September 05, 2008 3:43:40 PM You mean when I type on this laptop ultra fast and don't use Word?Yeah. And yes, the old OF's turned in to spammiong grounds. hehenerd, you were banned too? I woudn't realy called it harsh...banning me for life would be harsh. But yeah...things...got out of hand,. That='s what happenes when you are on a old forum which normally isn't posted on...or seems like it's nor watched on a regular basis. So, it was well deserved. So as I said, a "You are benned/temperorilly suspednded" email would be nice, which would include telling us for how long. Can't wait to see your solution Fancylad. |

Thursday, September 04, 2008 6:05:39 PM OK, don't quote me on this, because it's in the talks stage, but I just spoke to my developer and we're coming to a solution where people who are fans of the old forums and people who are fans of the new forums will both be happy. it's a high priority situation. there, i've said too much already, but when it happens, we'll never have to have the "i like the old forums" conversation again.developing... |

Thursday, September 04, 2008 5:43:09 PM Wow, thanks guys. (I feel special now. XD)Anyway, since davymid asked us to keep coming up with suggestions, I do have one. However, it is not comment related in any way. Well, you know how at the top of the page there are the little tabs (Latest, Popular, Most Bookmarked, etc.)? I think it would be good to add "Archive". So, you can write dates (March 1st, March 2nd, etc.) and put in all the posts that were up that day. That way, a person that misses a day, a week, or even a month can go to Archive and see what they missed instead of going to page 28 and having to refresh in case a new post pushed a post from the bottom of the last page to the top of the next page. I have had to do this SEVERAL times now and I find it to be annoying. |

Thursday, September 04, 2008 5:24:19 PM I concur, reading upwards is irritating and does not make sense. An option to choose style would be appreciated.pot ot mottob morf "retteb erom" meht daer nac ew taht os sdrawkcab segassem ruo epyt dlouhs ew ebyam ro... |

Thursday, September 04, 2008 5:07:19 PM Please explain how listing the comments from "Newest-to-oldest" makes sense? Considering that newer comments have a tendency to be a response to older ones, and how rediculously irritating it is to read up to down then go back up again, I hardly see where this form "makes sense." And there's no such thing as "more better" and even if there was, I wouldn't call the changes so far "better" anyway.Yeah I'm in a pissy mood. F off. |

Thursday, September 04, 2008 5:05:43 PM ^^ Snivellus, "at the top of the page you can provide the choices "Old Comment System" and "New Comment System". That way every person can choose what they prefer and be happy."That is a splendid idea, and not as difficult to facilitate as you might think. Remember there was a discussion some time ago about changing the site's colour scheme (to a resounding "NO" from the masses) and one voice on the forums (sorry, can't remember who) spoke up with the wonderful idea of making it user-controlled, so they could choose any colour scheme, or stick with "IAB Classic". The same could be done for comments. Keep coming with suggestions, pet peeves, ideas, and bugs (try to keep it helpful/constructive rather than b*tch for the sake of it!), fellow IABers. This is the chance for your voice to be heard, Fancy said he will be checking this thread and writing things down! |

Thursday, September 04, 2008 5:02:12 PM Snivellus had a good idea with having the option to choose how to view the comment order. I really like the old way of posting. If it's possibly i'd definitely appreciate it |
