I think what dooms the poor reptilian into mindless obedience is the fact that gramps beds down with it nightly (see 1:07).

Poor Caiman-kun :(

Steve Irwin is probably looking down from the heavens with his millions of alligator, crocodile and snake buddies and saying,"That's not an enviroment for a caiman now, ain't it? Poor lil thing...oh well, it'll be 'appy to see me when he joins us!"
Then he'll go wrestle Godzilla.

I don't see the problem with this. Its just another pet, a dog could eat you or your children aswell you know, a cat could scratch your eyes out and probably worse. And the excuse, "yeah but they are tame animals" doesn't cut it. They were wild aswell at one point and eventually through many many years just became docile regular house pets. So why not alligators or crocodiles. They'd be great, they can eat and digest pretty much any crap you give them, and only need to feed 1 or 2 times top a year!! In my opinion everyone should get one. A garbage disposal that protects your house and will make a nice pair of shoes when it eventually dies...(which will probably be after you anyway)... wiN!!

LOL at first I didn't notice the crocodile.... I thought the video would be about the baby.

Awwwww, Caiman-kun loves the kotatsu.
Makes sense, since they need heat to move around, like lizards.
At first I thought he was fake, but then he moved his tail.

it's a race...does the alligator eat the baby before the parents make sushi out of it?

er, make sushi out of the alligator, not the baby.

pet alligators aren't all that uncommon.

Man, that crocodile is pretty laid back. He doesn't look like he'd bite anyone unless they tried to attack him or something.
And yes, growing up alongside a human for 23 years has probably had an impact on his behavior. He's used to people, so he doesn't mind them. He's nothing more than a big, scaly puppy.
He also seemed to be enjoying that kotatsu quite a lot. Happy crocodile is happy.

"crocidiles are the smartest reptiles and it had been with him since he was a child so about 23 years or more so it would be tame after all that time"

that's not a pet...
he's raising that thing for eating it :)
seriously: Boiled alligator feet are a speciality and delicacy. Have tried them once - really not bad

^^Spongamabob: "what if it eats the baby??" . . . well they probably won't have to feed it for another 6 months.

Someone is going to lose a hand. I will take any bets at all. Someone is losing an appendage here. It's guaranteed. And it won't be the croc.

First of all you can not tame a reptile. They do not have the same intelligence as a mammal. I know because I own 20 snakes. At one time we had almost 200 snakes and a few different lizards and monitors. There is no way in hell that I would have a crocodillian of any size running loose around my house.

> by referring to them as "Japs", yes, you are being racist

Is it necessarily racist? Calling Australians Aussies, Germans Jerries, Japanese Japs, Chinese Chinks, Canadians Canucks, they are all just familiar abbreviations rather than racist. Surely the fundamental of a racism has to be some offense or derogatory intention, which none of these phrases imply.

Also, you have to remember I'm older than most of you guys, and come from a time when we knew all this new-age politically-correct touchy-feely greenie garbage was utter cr*p, before people forgot it was all a joke and started to actually believe it.

Oh hang on, I was born in the peace-and-love 60's... dang, maybe its just me then.
