You're right that most people (terribly)mispronounce ni hao, however the way you explained the pronunciation is actually Cantonese. The pronunciation everyone messes up is Mandarin. Cantonese is spoken in most if not all Chinatowns, so that's why you might hear it more often than Mandarin.

Yeah, you got to have the right tone and pronunciation, otherwise it will be pointless.

dynoburger. perhaps its white like, much like dora talking spanish a lot of it is "americanized" but it is a big step to teaching kids a different foreign language in the US other than spanish.

my daughter is learning her alphabets currently, and we are teaching her the english, spanish, french, german, and I want her to learn a mongoloid language as well.

Chinese seems easier to learn than English. English has far too few words to properly... express one's meaning. Or that might be because we have several words for everything in Denmark.

'cao' is not pronounced as cow, but more like with the 'ch' from chin, just wanted to point that out.

Her intonation is surprisingly accurate, quite uncommon with westerners.

haha ike, its different over here in Ireland :P But MUD does make so much more sense than dirt. I'll try teach the native indigenous people here. They're still struggling with the wireless radio, I'm sure once we outlaw witch burnings and introduce motor vehicles we might be able to become a respectable part of society :D

the only few words I can say in mandarin are from Ni Hao Kai Lan. I am happy that there is a kids show teaching something other than spanish...now if only we could get a german and french show going I would be thrilled.

by the way, yeh-yeh (or however you spell it) means grandpa

and andrewgaynor - its, if there isn't grass on the field, go play in the MUD (poo looks like mud, not dirt).

also, hit'em before the hair does.
