Okay.
I understand the banning of smoking in public places such as resteraunts, and stores. But in our state's capital, they've banned smoking anywhere in the city that's not your house. You can't even smoke outside! Or in a bar! And about the bar, how many people out there smoke when they drink? How many people ONLY smoke when they drink? They go hand and hand! I guess bars want to lose business. Another way we're getting our freedoms taken away. They either need to make smoking legal, or illegal. Don't be retarded about it and make random laws trying to force people to quit. It's stupid. If you don't like me smoking around you, then GO AWAY. If you're not around me, you don't have to worry about it! Problem solved. :D

Smoking not causing cancer??? How about a nice case of emphysema(sp?) This country was founded on tobacco crops, but it's the chemicals that phil and morris are putting into the filters that are addictive and lethal, i.e. antifreeze. Light an American Spirit cigarette and put it down and watch it go out. Try that with a Marlboro, yeah it burns all the way down so they can sell more. And if you can't quit, go to the store a get a case of STFU or will power. There's no physical withdrawals, just mental you wimps.OPIEBREATH makes a very valid point |

OMG!!! Anyone bitchin about smoking should first shut off ur car, turn off ur air conditioners, shut down all factories, and realize where all this poo thats hurting the world is coming from!!! Smoking is EXTREMELY bad for the smoker, bitching about it is EXTREMELY bad for the non-smoker!!LOL!! I live in SW Ontario, and have Asthma, I cant go outside on hot summer days because of all the pollution sent across Lake Erie from the good ol' USA... I just think the effort people put into smoking issues could be better directed towards the real problems in the world, like how to clean up the air we all breath. Next time its really hot and humid out, and air quality is low, go outside and try and breath through a straw, its almost impossible, thats how difficult it is to draw a breath! I know things are hard to change on a small level... but ask yourself "whats it going to take to get me to change"? Remember its non-conformists, and "ANARCHY" that changes the way the world |

i live in Ohio, where we have a state wide smoking ban in areas where the public can go (i.e restaurants and stores, but not your own home or car). It is so damn refreshing, I dont have to go into a TGI Fridays and ask for the non-smoking section anymore, and yet I was still fumed out. I have noticed that a lot of places smell a whole lot better, including bowling allys. I went to Pennsylvania on a college tour and we ate at a Fridays, and they asked me for smoking or non, and I did a double take. Hah I hadnt heard that in years and forgot the ban was only passed by a few states, and BTW it smelled terrible in there, maybe because ive gotten so used to a smoke free state. |

I wish there was someone like that in real life. I f*cking hate smokers who smoke upwind of you. I just usually ask them if they wouldn't mind not making me smell like the poo they're smoking. And a funny thing, I just "googled" smoking benefits and the first twenty pages of results had nothing regarding any benefits of smoking. So I don't know what search engine you're using. |

Oh and just to get the whole Smoking/AntiSmoking debate raging...One day my bro was ripping me because I was lighting up, and I thought "There MUST be SOME positive benefits to smoking..." so I googled "smoking benefits" and found... 1. Despite all the ads you've ever seen, there has NEVER actually been a link between smoking and cancer scientifically proved.
2. Smoking improves human information processing ability.
3. Smokers are thinner than no-smokers even when ingesting the same calories.
4. Hypertension is lower in smokers.
5. Smokers have 50% lower chance of getting Parkinson's disease or Alzheimer's.
6. Many, many more... Google "smoking benefits" to be a smart-*** to your friends about it. All that said, as a smoker of 10 years plus, let me say "DON'T SMOKE! - no not ever, not one to 'experiment' not one 'just when you need it' - NEVER!" |

When angry adults get behind something, they REALLY get behind something.The whole anti-smoking thing's kinda gotten otu of control, to be honest. Don't get me wrong, I really love not having to breathe in someone else's smoke. But those Truth ads kinda make me want to spork out my eyeballs. Yes they may be facts, but it's complete propaganda. I think kids should be taught from a young age what's healthy and what isn't, and then allowed to make their own choices. |
