the ear ones are the only ones that are like.. WTF to me lol. everything else isnt so horrible. props to people who get those however, the must be painful AND expensive lol |

The spikes aren't easy to get in, but they are definitely possible. Most skin spikes use dermal anchors (a hook that attaches to the skin underneath with the decorate spike visible). To do this, an incision is made into the skin and the anchor pushed underneath. Then, it is set into place and left alone for healing. Others make an incision, squeeze the jewelry in the opening, and allow the skin to heal over the jewelry's flat base. In other words, yes, it's painful. |

Sure there's plenty of jobs for these people. Comic book stores and the Barnum & Bailey Circus come to mind.Funny too how a lot of the people who do stuff like this to themselves want attention, but then get pissed when people stare. Crazy. |

Wow I love how judgmental half of you people are. And I love the comment about how are you going to get a 9-5. First of all you can take out MOST piercings and the hole closes right up numb nuts and second of all if you have huge gauges you have the option of getting your ear lobes reconstructed...yeah it cost money. But YOU HAVE THAT OPTION. Sorry to break it to you but jobs are becoming a lot more accepting of body mods. And as far as the old dude in the last photo goes..He's older and he's probably retired. He can look however he wants. Just because you have body mods does not mean you want attention or have "daddy issues". All people are into different things. Body mods happen to be there thing. So get the hell over it. |

And my mom doesn't like my 6 guage earrings...she'd shoot me if I got anything like some of these. I think the industrial and above the nose(can't think of the real name) piercings are interesting but the others just scare me. There is no practical reason to have holes that gapingly huge in your ears and no reason to have a bar across the back of your neck that can easily reject or get infected, and if it does infect ooooh boy I'm sure that's reallllll attractive. |

Most of that shock factor is to do with the actual jewelry in these cases. Or maybe in my mind it is.I have a couple of 'weird' piercings but i've never had anyone cringe over them. (part from my boss but he doesn't like any piercings, tattoo's or my choice of hair colour) |
