Tuesday, July 15, 2008 10:54:22 AM actually a lot of chainsaws don't have the double fail safe. My dad just bought a STIHL and it doesn't have it, and his friend is always scaring him because he tries to use his own chainsaw one-handed(not a good idea) |

Tuesday, July 15, 2008 6:57:10 AM It's weird that the cops were so quick to rule it a suicide. There are plenty of options when it comes to offing oneself, and I doubt "decapitation by chainsaw" is anywhere near the top 10. |

Tuesday, July 15, 2008 6:18:13 AM Also, modern chainsaws in America DO have failsafes in them. Either he bypassed them or used an old chainsaw. |

Tuesday, July 15, 2008 6:17:00 AM Shocking real image of this poor tormented man shortly before the incident.

Tuesday, July 15, 2008 5:44:39 AM Ok, unless they make chainsaws in england different than in america, i don't see how this is even possible. In america, the chainsaw has a double layer failsafe system to prevent an accident. 1, you have a thumbswitch that has to be pushed in before the trigger will run, and 2 - your support hand is placed in a cage like mechanism to hold the handle. If your support hand in the "cage" slips and the cage moves forward or backward, the chainsaw immediately stops and the engine is shut off... So let me get this straight. An old man who lives in a FLAT, where he has no yard to care for, no trees to maintanance, and by all appearance no fireplace to feed, just happens to have a chainsaw that he is somehow able to bypass the safety features of just to perform and elaborate decapitation of himself? And somehow local police see this as perfectly normal behavior of suicides in the area? WTF |

Tuesday, July 15, 2008 3:33:42 AM ....I just don't get it. How exactly would you manage to fully decapitate yourself with a chainsaw before you dropped like a rock? Just swing it really fast at your neck? This guy has balls of steel. |

Tuesday, July 15, 2008 2:59:18 AM Poor guy; he obviously had severe mental problems why wasn't more done to help him? And manditaaknfv, yes, it was a badly written article. In the daily mail, they're all like that! |

Tuesday, July 15, 2008 1:47:54 AM We also have 112 as an emergency number as well as 999. Poor bloke though, that's one hell of a way to go for when you can't quite reach the 9 I suppose. I'm pretty sure if the housing company had wanted to off him they would have used a less bizarre and brutal method than suicide by chainsaw. |

Monday, July 14, 2008 8:53:05 PM I think he was trying to make a point. You take my home, I take my head. I make you go through a crapton of paperwork and no one is going to want to live here after me because I'm the man that offed himself with chainsaw. Take that governmentz ftw. |

Monday, July 14, 2008 8:29:15 PM The brain will remain working for about 90 seconds after it has been removed from the body, executioners used to spit in the still mentally acute faces of disembodied heads to add further humilation. Now while this head was sitting on the ground for the last 30 seconds, I wonder what he was thinking. |
