I second the vote for no, and raise you an insult to fancylads intelligence for his comment on the mother.

+ + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + +

I was talking about the kid--not the mom.

Here's the other way of looking at it: That kid is disrupting a class of snotty kindergarteners who are already a pain in the ass to begin with. This autistic kid is taking away the attention of 33 (in the school district I live in, it's 34 kindergarteners to 1 teacher) other kids in his classroom because his teacher has to give him that much more extra attention.

I'm not saying voting the kid out of the classroom is right, it's not, but I've taught kids his age and I've had to deal with a couple of kids who has what this kid has and if I could have voted them out I would have.

To paraphrase Chris Rock: I'm not saying it's OK, but I completely understand.

Wow, that's fücked beyond belief. I feel bad for that kid, I feel bad for that kid's friend, and I even feel bad for the classmates. I don't think they really understood what was going on (they're five years old!), and I think that the teacher took advantage of that.

I think the mother went in the wrong direction with the Al Queida thing, but the rest of what she said shocked the hell out of me.

I think the teacher should maybe look inwards a little bit. If I called her a n***** or a c***, and got a group of peers to tell her everything that was wrong with her and then exile her for it (and there have been times where this would have been acceptable), she would probably go bat-shît crazy. And yet she feels as though it's legit to do the same to a five-year-old for being mentally handicapped. In another time or another place, it could be her, and I really don't think she realizes that.

I don't necessarily find something wrong with not having him in that class anymore if it's becoming a problem...

But that is about the worst way to go about it.

I dont blame her for being upset and hurt. Her child who is mentally disabled has been attacked by a person who should not only know better, but encourage the ailing child in learning and social growth. Instead she gives him mental and emotional scars that will never go away.

Great job education system. Way to go.

...did she seriously compare the teacher to al-Qaeda?

And to whoever said the mentally challenged don't get respect, its because they're a burden to society as a whole.

This is messed. I bet you anything that teacher's fired right now, or I swear the sun's coming up from the west...O_O

I feel so bad for the kid; having to put up with an ignorant teacher AND an attention grabbing mom has to be a strain on his nerves.

I'd vote him out too
if he is THAT annoying

Couldn't he stop talking
for a minute? And he does
it just to bother and you
can tell because when his
mom isn't speaking, he isn't
neither

See, here's the problem I'm having. I hate stupidity. I truly do. I find myself thinking very violent thoughts about people who demonstrate excessive stupidity. Like this teacher, for instance. I'm usually the type that is passionately opposed to violence against women, but this woman truly needs her ass kicked. At the very least, she needs to be fired. I have tremendous respect for teachers and what they do. I know I could NEVER put up with a large group of kids for hours a day. I'd go nuts. But if you can't do it, and do it right, then you don't need to be a teacher. You need to be fired. Quickly.

See, this is why waterboarding and other forms of torture should be legal. That "teacher" is a prime candidate for being tortured....daily and excessively. That kind of action can emotionally screw someone up for a LONG time. Let's vote her out of the human race.

The inner video production geek in me is crying for that poor microphone. T___T

I'm sure that what she said isn't EXACTLY what happened. The teacher probably said it a different way.
I wonder what the principal thinks, and if that teacher is fired. Because it should be the teacher that leaves, not the kid.
Also, I remember at my school the special needs kids had a separate classroom. I was one of the volunteers that would go in a play with them on my free time. =) They really are wonderful, and so loving. I always got lots of hugs. ^-^

this is the most outrageous thing i've ever heard of! How dare that teacher kick a kid with autism out of kindergarten. I want to smack her!

i can't put into words how angry this makes me. This teacher should never be allowed to teach again. Society as a whole has too little respect for the mentally challenged. This is horrible
