I always thought of myself as a serious guy from the modern west... but rolling around in the wet grass sure looks like a good bit of fun! Better than sitting on my ass at home in front of the computer, that's for sure. |

They think it's a Roman or even an Ancient Briton thing, so it has been going on for millennia. I'm pretty sure the one on the stretcher was the bloke who won the first one, that's why he is holding up the cheese at the end. I think I read that the winner got taken off on a stretcher. Ha. I know this is a tradition, but I still cant see why anyone would want to hurl themselves down that hill and potentially injure themselves pretty badly for some cheese! |

Besides the broken bones and various other injuries that could happen while doing this, that actually looks really fun. I'd be one of the people who were using the mud as a slide to go down the hill, lol. Forget trying to run. |

I drove past that hill when I was in the UK.. and it really is very steep. I think it would be fun to slide down, but not with a bunch of people coming down with me, and probably not going as fast as most of them were either. |
