Thursday, May 22, 2008 12:51:15 PM See the circles it forms? Well, the higher it is, the more condensed the circles and the more there are. Could those be some kind of particle? Like air or something? Maybe its just my imagination. :P |

Thursday, May 22, 2008 9:45:11 AM that was really neat, i wish you could wear some kind of goggles so that you could see soundwaves in real time instead of just standing waves |

Thursday, May 22, 2008 8:52:52 AM the higher a wave frequency, the closer together the crests and troughs are, so that's why it's more detailed the higher it gets. |

Thursday, May 22, 2008 7:56:08 AM this is basically a sheet of metal (?) vibrated by a speaker I believe; basically a more high-tech version of what is suggested by skittler.and we're looking at standing waves made by the sounds; these only happen at specific frequencies. |

Thursday, May 22, 2008 7:31:00 AM you need a tight strong piece of rubber (attached to a metal holder, similar to a coping saw shape) a flat piece of metal in the shape in the video, and light sand or something similar. then rub the rbbber bit hard up and down on the edge of the metal. voila, there ya go |
