Major wtf factor :/
There is NOTHING distracting about that haircut. NOTHING. It's not offensive, it's not huge and spiky and distracting, it doesn't have anything inappropriate on it.
And, they said the kid had the SAME haircut for a while. Why are they saying there's some issue with it now? What'd some teacher read that said that those haircuts 'mean' something? Besides, the kid's what? Elementary school? Dude, they're too young to make "statements" at that age, in my opinion.
Seriously. This makes NO sense to me.

I think he should the principal needs to be fired for being bald, the shine distracts the kids and the Vandyke needs to be shaved off, to expose the stretch marks around his lips.

The kid is what? 8? 10? Who cares? Its not a statement. Its a style that he decided to wear because he likes how its looks. I'd bet anything that the kids around him don't care, its just the teachers it bugs.

HAHAHAHA!!! That's ridiculous, In year 8 of my old school my prinicipal told all the boys with long hair get it cut, but I didn't and I was gonna sue the school over it and they dropped it fairly quickly. I still have long hair and now this year, one year later, the school is closing down :D. It's a shame though, I kind of liked my old school but my favourite teachers all left :(

Okay when I turn legal presidential age I'm totally running, that is if my primary dream of becoming a successful video game designer doesn't follow through.

My slogan? "No more bullpoo."

1 - That's not a mohawk.
2 - Prove in distracts from the "educational environment" in any manner.
3 - A school has no right to control manners such as hair. And that's simply that.
4 - Fail.

"Bekll, you got it wrong. It's not so that it won't distract the boys, it will keep the boys from seeing them as women and the girls won't be tempted to start dating (have sex, get married drop out of school or whatever)."

That's what I meant by "distract". I just forgot the details.

"Distracting to the educational environment"? Bull $hit! My friend has black hair, with a bright red mohawk that he SPIKES UP at least THREE INCHES and it's not "distracting to the educational environment." FLIck the teachers that complained.

That's it, Canada should really invade the Us loz. Bad news is, there's a conservative running the country and not a liberal...

that can't be considered a mohawk.a mohawk is when all of your head is shaved except for the 'hawk.but its not even a fohawk.its a patch of short hair 1/4 longer than the rest of his hair

Wow, that's retarded. There are at least a dozen kids in my high school with the exact same haircut. How is it distracting or interfering with the education process? Schools are getting way to controlling, I'm glad I'll be out of high school in less then a week.

I'm so glad I didn't have to go to school in the US. When I was at high school my hair was all spiky and standing up, was never a problem. There were also people w/ mohawks or dreadlocks and nobody really cared.
Also, this kid's haircut doesn't even look like a mohawk.

Teachers never seemed to realize that the only way haircuts, and t-shirts, and such things are distracting, are whenever they start making a big deal about them. I would think the majority of the young population today would be used to things like that and wouldn't find it distracting at all.

I'd be more distracted by someone with their hair all slicked back and wearing a sweater vest.
