Wow I love how it's all emphasized as manly. I can see myself doing this, although I don't think I'd want the dull knives and stuff. I'm content with hands and helmets. Maybe padding. I wanna be able to fight without worrying about hurting the person to much. Does that make sense?

i could actually see myself doing this... ufc is too organized compared to this for one thing and for another it is invitational
i just wanna hit, kick so on so forth when it comes to fighting. I do however know a bit of tae kwon do (green belt)but it would be nice to just forget about all of this organized forms of attack and just go berserk....

and to all the nay sayers and people who think that they are pussies, they are still beaten up just as much as most everybody who fights like this (ufc, street fighting, so on) and sometimes more. But think about it would you want to fight in a life or death situation when it is just a game being played with one of your buddies?

Agreed with everything you wrote. Would also add that it will be a cold day in hell before I ever visit eBaum's again. IAB sins a lot when they steal other people's content, but eBaum's entire premise is to rip off other people's content (they've been known to edit out edit out credits on vids and stamp their watermark on them instead). They're awful. And the owner of the site, btw, thinks he's like some sort of visionary superstar. The guy's a douche.

For the record, I only ever criticize IAB in the hopes that FancyLad will take the criticism to heart. He would go a long way in "legitimizing" IAB if he gave credit where credit was due and stopped ripping off ot

Also, I have noticed alot of I-Am-Bored's content were taken from Digg or Reddit. But those two sites do the same, aswell. Reddit has a big grudge against Digg because they say "Digg is Reddit + 10 hours."
But as jmk4422 said, their content are linked to other websites. This website has their own player and a few times takes screenshots of some new articles. Ebaums does that, too, and I can guarantee you it'll be one cold day in hell before you see Ebaums hit front page of Digg.
But because Digg has a HUGE fanbase, I can almost garantee you that if you submitt something onto digg with the I-am-bored.com url it gets burried because that content was probably already submitted from its original website.

I agree completely to jmk4422. I religiously go to all three sites, I-am-Bored, Digg, and Reddit.
I love I-am-bored, but it is no way Digg or Reddit.
Digg and Reddit are purely based on people. People submit storied and it gets digged/burried(Digg) or upvoted/downvoted(reddit) based on how people liked the storied. Then if they get a certain amount of diggs or upvotes in a period of time it makes front page.

I-am-bored it's purely one person posting links and every now and then someones submission gets accepted. Not really much of a democracy.

@RyogaVee: I thought this looked familiar, I teach traditional Kali and am familiar with krafty (spelling?) dog's work. Yeah dog brothers have been around for a long time and never had anything to do with the books or the movies. For those who don't know, Dog Brothers Kali is supposedly the real world application of Kali. They pit each other in real fights with limited protection so that their fighters can experience what happens to them when adreniline or the "Seeing red" factor kicks in.

I signed up just to comment.
My name is Ryoga Vee
I am a member of Gint's Fight Club also known as the Gentleman's fight club. We are a splinter cell of the more widely known Dog Brothers. I'm the one that took the elbow to the kidney.

What we do is VERY real, as well as painful. but over all we do it to get back to our primal roots as men trapped in the new digital society.

We we began before the movie and after the book but that never comes as a thought to us. fight clubs have been in existence for hundreds of years in one form or another. We are not driven by the media, but in some cases, drive the media in their pursuit to cover what we do and why. although, we know better than to talk about fight club :)

Ban Jayseama0822 please, all he does is copy an earlier comment and pasting their own ads after it.

thunder.... wow, so ignorant.

1- UFC is an invitation league, not something you just join up.
2- They are geeks, not athletes, they'd get their asses handed to them in any competitive fighting match against a pro.
3- Do you not see them using random household objects? If that's what they want to do, why even suggest UFC?

"IAB is on auto bury because most internet people think IAB is stealing vids and whatnot...They don't realize that IAB is just a portal of links..."

IAB does steal content. A portal is a site like Digg or Reddit that links directly to material, whether it's a news story, a YouTube video, a Flickr photo, etc. What IAB does is take *screenshots* of news stories (wtf with that?!?) so they can keep the content on an IAB page. They rip a lot of YouTube vids and convert it over to their crappy flash player instead of providing a direct link to the vid's creator. Digg doesn't do this which is why it's a portal. And btw, Collegehumor creates a lot of their own material and as for Break, well, I hate Break. Can't explain that one. But as much as I love IAB, it always pisses me off when they steal other people's work. I understand why Digg would put IAB on auto-bury as a result.

Why would IAB ever be on digg? It would be like coke advertising for pepsi.

looks like fun. Obviously they're a little more civilized with using helmets because they don't want to permanently damage the other person. This isn't some underground bare-knuckle boxing league where the purpose is to knock someone out, they're just average joes trying to get the thrill of fighting.

"Probably because there's no way in hell you watched a 5 minute video in 30 seconds and then posted a vague comment. But that's just my guess."

I watched the first 30-45 seconds and posted a comment "Not very interesting to me."
then a second comment asking about the bury thing on digg

What a bunch of pansies! Helmets, weapons (dulled and lame ones at that)?! Might as well just stay at home. Pfft.

"Once a month they get together to beat each other..." I thought he was going to finish that sentence with "off."

Anyway, the movie Fight Club wasn't about fighting at all. I think it was a parody, maybe even a tongue-in-cheek look, at the kind of people that participate in Fight Club. It's not trying to get people to fight at all :|
