I'd like to point out that there is no indication that the stabbing was in any way connected to the game. It's more likely to have been for some other reason. If they knew that the person they wanted to stab really wanted to buy GTA4, then they knew where that person would be at that time, an obviously necessary part of stabbing them.Nor did the mugging necessarily have anything to do with the game. It would be truly bizarre if the muggers didn't steal anything else. Besides, people have been mugged for their trainers - should we ban trainers? |

OMFG!Are people so drunk/stoned/sad/impatient (delete as appropriate) enough to actually stab someone repeatedly for a fudgek'n game???!! That is more rediculous than that wierdo Austrian a few days ago. I hope the attacker loses his game in a huge house fire with him in it. |

So we have one person who had their copy of the game (and who knows what else) stolen when they were mugged and one person who was stabbed outside a shop selling the game (with no indication there was any connection at all). This, somehow, "proves" that the game causes violence.Following that "reasoning" leads to the conclusion that mobile phones and hamburgers are far more of a danger to society than GTA - more than one person has had their mobile phone stolen during a mugging and more than one person has been stabbed near a place selling hamburgers. Some people are either morons, hugely gullible or looking for something simple to blame problems on rather than trying to find a real cause and a real solution. |

Well if it was set in Britain I guess you would only have to programme for the weather being rain. If you think the media are on Rockstars back now just imagine the uproar if it was set in Britain. Too many people in Britain refuse to accept we have a problem with violence as the rich get richer and the poor get poorer |

I'm just going now to watch the news about the poor girl found left in the basement then I'm going to watch Devils Rejects. On the way home I'll read my local newspaper telling me about all the violence in the world and then I'll choose the easy way out and blame a computer game for mankinds failings. |

You know the scary thing? I visit that exact store whenever I go to Croydon. Croydon has stabbings all the time. I recognised the shop before I read where it was. Goddamn this freaks me out.
Makes sense being Croydon though. |
