catbarf, thats not how i have it here. In mine it says "When you lie down, you need not be afraid, when you rest, your sleep will be sweet."Proverbs 3 is The Value of Wisdom. All of this relies with serving the Lord with confidence and understanding. It does not mean all your actions will be protected but rather you should be sure of yourself.
And Jerm Leather, if you honestly believe in it, then you shouldn't have a problem putting all your eggs in one basket. You in a sense have also put your eggs in the basket of theism instead of agnostic. Organized religions just take another step

Not to be yet another Christianity basher (mostly because I think that most organized religion has a higher chance of oppressing it's followers then helping them), but am I the only one that sort of sees this as a metaphor for Christianity?I mean, you place all your trust and hope in one basket and then when all is said and done you continue to suffer and befall evils even though you reserve your faith for this one perspective. For the record, I am Not an Athiest. I believe that Something out there is holding all of this madness together somehow. Still, it can only do so much to sway the hearts and minds of mortal men. p.s. why doesn't the spell check require me to capitalize Athiest? That's a bit prejudiced in itself, isn't it? |

Ladies and Gentlemen...Schadenfreude at work...simple as that. Everyone (no matter how much they claim they don't) secretly enjoys seeing bad things happen to people they don't know because it reminds them to be happy it's not them. This is why America's Funniest Home Videos and almost ALL reality TV is so popular.
And Megan, I'll be the first here to willingly bash the Bible. Mostly because I have read it. I find it to be a wonderful piece of historical fiction. But to take it literally and as fact is ignorant and simply unintelligent. There is little difference between the Bible and Ovid's Metamorphoses (a collection of ancient Roman myths). Basing all of your ideals on one book is not intelligence, it is ignorance. One must explore all of the realms of possibility and then, after gaining knowledge of each, choose their own path. |

Christians believe some stupid things, and I don't think thats an opinion that should be politely tucked away by those who hold it. However, in this case, lets feel sorry for the people who got hurt, yes? Why spit on them while they're lying there bleeding internaly? They have clearly had a bad enough day and won't give a damn about the 12 year old standard philosophy being preached here.

Actually, MeganS, some atheists/agnostics have read into the bible and thought it was simply silly. The good ones, anyhow. There are some who simply do it to be non-conformists.
Either way, it's pointless to try to argue. :[ people can be ignorant either way! |

there's a difference?In all seriousness- the idea of it is funny, but the actual happening is not. Hurt, no matter what religion, race, or anything, is never funny. Not like this.
However, if they're doing something retarded and getting 'pwnt', they deserved it. All these people were doing was just enjoying their taste in music. |
