to the people who asked why the kids didnt fight back, its because they had been kept there all their lives, tey had become emotionally conditioned to obeying, i bet the girl cant even imagine what would happen if she fought back. Those peoples minds will be in a screwed up state, if its extreme they may even not be able to talk, see the similar case without sexual abuse, of the girl genie in america i think it was, the lack of human interaction meant she couldnt speak. |

She didn't kill herself because she had children... No matter where they came from I am sure she couldn't face leaving them. And killing yourself is hard, most people want to live, and she may have lived in hope of escape.Being held captive is more than the actual act, there is the emotional torment to. I hope she is safe, though she will probably never recover. |

I agree with baddog... i would have slit my wrist, hung myself .. choked on my own vomit.. drowned myself .. ANYTHING just to escape from that horrid fudgeen beast of a man!!!
or i would of made a suitable weapon to cut his mudafudgeen balls off... ugh.. as for his wife she must have been a simpleton for not realising!!! i believe she was in on it... and even if she wasnt who gives up on their child when they've mysteriously run away.. i kno my mam and dad would be searching everywhere for me... thats just callious, rotten human behaviour.. she should be locked up too... as for him.. he should be tortured... oh man.. wat a sick fudge.. evil!! he even looks evil!!! i just feel so sorry for the chick.. and her kids.. but seriosuly.. why didnt she just fight or make a plan... 24yrs and no plan...??? why??? |

The irony is that he will be shut in an isolation cell for the rest of his life. If they were to put him general population, the other inmates would tear him limb from limb. I've seen it here with child molesters. |

This is one of the worst things that could ever happen to a human being. Far worse than death. The story is so unsettling, just thinking about how living like that could affect a person...*shudder*And they've been in there for longer than I've been alive.

how do people not pick up on the fact that theres another FAMILY living under you. your daughter disappears yet you don't question why your husband all of a sudden doesn't want anyone in the basement? the mother is an idiot. and come on, in all those years NO ONE was curious enough to go into the basement?? |

It sound horrible but if that was me, I would just slit my writs. Everyplace she goes she will be looked at as "that girl" and the mental torrment as well as emotional is enought alone to drive the toughest person crazy. I wish her and her family well but I fear this is only the begining of the end for her. Sad, sad, sad. |
