Wednesday, April 09, 2008 9:47:34 PM If any of you would read the links posted you would see that it was not banned. The catholic church just suggested that it should be removed due to the fact that the pope bobblehead was inaccurate. It had the pope dressed in the garb of a cardinal not a pope. Nitpicking for sure but saying it was banned was inaccurate. By the way for any of you a hole flamer b itch s out there I am protestant. |

Wednesday, April 09, 2008 6:51:42 PM It wasnt really banned but rather removed because it was inaccurate. But I think I know the real reason the word "banned" is used. When you ban something, everyone wants to see it. Advertising at its finest. |

Wednesday, April 09, 2008 6:39:22 PM Fancylad, I'd really like to know why the word 'banned' was used. Not for any 'Catholic/ anti-Catholic rant but in the interest of simple PC blogging. Like wb1059 said, it was in very bad taste. |

Wednesday, April 09, 2008 5:39:30 PM Ok first of all: No one has "Banned" anything. The Catholic Church does not have any power to ban anything in the United States. A bishop found the commercial to be in bad taste, and politely asked Metro to remove it. Metro, responding in a similarly polite manner, removed the offensive commercial. Second, this was never a TV spot. It was on the Metro website. It wasn't really a commercial even, it was more like an instructional video on how to use the Metro the day of the Papal Mass. I must say I am very disappointed at the description of this video. It is either intentionally misleading or very ignorant. I'm not trying to hold this site to the same standards I would the evening news but this is just very, very bad and sloppy posting. Is the intent to provoke a religious flame war? Because that's the only reason I can see for this. This was so bad I had to make my first post in a couple years to express my displeasure. |

Wednesday, April 09, 2008 4:12:43 PM How did the Catholic Church ban this? What media outlets does the Church control? I always thought that it was the Jews who controlled the media! (Just kidding.) If this is a real commercial it should be banned because it is slow and not funny. |
