Monday, April 07, 2008 5:04:39 AM ...because he obviously couldn't tell the cellphone was on the table without playing back the footage to make sure the goggles said it was infact a cellphone. |

Monday, April 07, 2008 2:51:45 AM erm, you would need more than one sensor, knowing that something is [w] distance away from [x] sensor is not so useful, having a [y] sensor of height and an extra [x] sensor for triangulation, will indeed be able to sort out if your jazz in in, or on top of the fridge. |

Monday, April 07, 2008 2:36:06 AM I don't think the goal of inventing the goggles is to find missing keys... |

Monday, April 07, 2008 2:10:02 AM That's lame!! It is just a camera mounted to goggles that records what you do. So you can play it back and see where you put the keys. What happens if they fall out of your pocket? And how does saying what object you are looking at do anything? |

Monday, April 07, 2008 1:14:39 AM This item will become obsolete really soon when they invent the "virtual object locator".You take an object ( Like your keys ) and you put a sensor on it that map the item in a virtual area. Turn on your computer and it will indicate the distance between your computer and the object as well as it's direction away from the computer. Add a map of your house and you got your object. |

Sunday, April 06, 2008 11:00:56 PM As always, KOALAMEATPIE has a better idea!!Why doesn't the gov't use these to find bin Laden? Or WMD? Or FANCYLAD's car after a rough night at the bar? Or PABASA's feet? PRIMETIME's sense of reality? Or a bad photograph of DAINTY? I kid because I adore. Night... |

Sunday, April 06, 2008 10:45:37 PM I'd like to see the algorithms they needed to devise to get the recognition, that was cool. And about the only cool thing. From what I understood, they wanted all the data sent to a master computer, which could then be accessed for playback. Sounds like we're stepping into the direction of Big Brother there. I thought like everyone else it would be a beam picked up by the goggles from a chip or perhaps a chemical compound applied to certain objects. Someday... And bAnnAna - The goggles record everything you have seen. You are not particularly interested what you are seeing presently. So let's say you lost your keys an hour ago, you could access the data and replay what you saw an hour ago and supposedly see where you left your keys. Then you go to that spot and your keys will be there. |

Sunday, April 06, 2008 8:51:00 PM the modern car chip thing is a sham. I was told that I needed to pay $150 to get new keys for my car because they have a chip...but all I did was make a copy at home depot and it worked....it's a lie!!!!(sometimes) |
