Tuesday, July 08, 2008 9:20:13 AM Honestly, at the bars I frequent this would be pretty damned helpful. No losing the seats because my fellow bargoers like stealing the seat next to my girl. |

Friday, March 28, 2008 9:39:44 AM I got trouble drinking water from public drinking fountain because you dont know how the others used the damn thing. Sneezed on, peed on, made the dog drink from it, used it without washing their hands full of feces, sweated over it... the list goes on and on.Now try to picture how people would interact with public drinking fountain while drunk. No thanks... |

Friday, March 28, 2008 3:46:44 AM ttsec...i'm pretty sure the target clientele for these won't mind the taste no matter how it's poured:)Also, most bartenders don't know how to pour correctly anyway. I'm more worried about taking a leak and coming back to a tapped out table. |

Friday, March 28, 2008 1:35:35 AM Oh and on drinking ages: I bought beer in Russia at age 10 (as a b-day gift for my dad, but noone at the store even asked). In New York, it was a bit more tricky because you had to know specific grocery stores but buying smokes and vodka was a non-issue for me at 15-16 when I lived there. As much as I appreciate rules and laws, when it comes to drinking, I say just do it responsibly and age doesn't matter. |

Friday, March 28, 2008 1:35:19 AM Beer tastes different depending on how you pour it. It's an art. Having table-top taps will decrease beer taste quality. |

Friday, March 28, 2008 1:31:47 AM Actually, passports won't be needed for a while longer to cross land borders. They postponed the rule. And to whoever suggested this for soft drinks: NO. I don't see any place where people typically have soft drinks investing $50,000 (per table?) into tap machines when there are no lines for refills anyway.I can see maybe 1-2 bars at most getting it in a city (other than NY/LA maybe) more as a gimmick to attract custmers, rather than for function. Just too expensive. |

Thursday, March 27, 2008 10:27:58 PM Cool idea, lost of $ for the bars but ultimately not great for waitresses or customers.^^drinking age in Canada depends on province. For instance, it's 18 in quebec or manitoba, but 19 in ontario. Still a lot better than 21 though.. |

Thursday, March 27, 2008 7:20:15 PM hmm.. that's not a invention.. that's a copy. or convergence of minds. Here in Fortaleza, a northeastern city of Brazil, this system has been implemented from 5 to 6 years ago. It's not a great success, as only one bar have it. And the drinking age is 14! w00t! naah, it's the same as Canada, 18. |

Thursday, March 27, 2008 5:19:44 PM You'd have to police that often, wouldn't want a bunch of college kids drinking straight from the tap, you know they would. And plus, as one guy in the video did, there would be SO many bad pours. I mean over 1/2 the glass was head! People, leave our drinks to the bartenders. Our stupid juice is better handled by their capable hands. :) |

As a bartender, I really don't like this thing.Pouring a pitcher of beer is one of the only times each night I get to stand still for a moment and take a breath... not to mention that when you lessen the amount of interaction with the customer and the barkeep, there's a better chance of the customer becoming intoxicated. Also, people serving themselves are less inclined to tip!! |

Thursday, March 27, 2008 2:35:04 PM Now, if it wasn't beer, and more of a soft drink, like pepsi, coke, etc. AND you can choose which drink you get, THAT to me would be the greatest. |
