I once had surgery on my left knee. The pre-op nurse gave me a Sharpie and told me to write "YES" on that knee, and "NO" on the other, so the operating room wouldn't make a mistake. I laughed and thought she was kidding. She was totally serious. Amazing. |

It's not worse than the story about the guy who went into the hospital to have a colostomy bag removed and they accidentally switched his organs around so that he pooped through his penis and peed through his rectum. The poo was watered down, but that still causes massive problems with infections. Also, this news article could have used a little more information. |

I saw this yesterday and said to myself, "Finally, a cure for my overactive imagination!" See, when I'm blue and people try to encourage me sometimes they ask me to imagine how worse it could be. The problem is that imagining things even worse is too easy for me - it's the positive visualization stuff I need help with. However, I think this instance of malpractice is the basement of where my fears are willing to go. Please, not that. Don't even want to think of it. GEEZ! |
