Friday, March 21, 2008 3:35:05 PM The ending is quite funny, bet the rest was just depressing, reminding me how typical my life will be. I hope i can change that. |

Wednesday, March 19, 2008 12:02:47 PM Aw. It's only really like that if you marry a wench who only cares about getting attention. I think the most truthful part was the part about her reasons for having babies. Those are not in my personal plan. |

Wednesday, March 19, 2008 3:14:39 AM Real funny how true this all is, I am getting re-married soon and we just bought a 3 bedroom house with a partially finished basement and I had planed in turning it into a rec area, the pool too and she did say it was too much money and work. The only thing different is we have 3 cats. |

Tuesday, March 18, 2008 5:01:48 PM Holy crap... this IS EXTREMELY accurate to my dad/stepmom's life...They got a 3 bedroom rancher with a semi finished basement . Eventually my dad made a bar/game room out of the basement and drunk with friends only a few times... Now there's always laundry on the pool table, and there's a treadmill and weights down there that he rarely uses, and a bunch of my little brother's toys. He also built a deck outside the back of the house...and we only use it a few times a summer. Him and my stepmom thought about getting an above ground pool also but decided it would cost too much. We also had three dogs...like the video pictured. The only thing here that wasn't perfectly accurate was the vacations were different locations. Me moving out and them retiring has yet to happen though. I was amazed when they started reading all that off because I recognized everything so perfectly well. All this almost makes me think they spied on us and then made this. The accuracy amazed me. |

Tuesday, March 18, 2008 4:10:00 PM Very, very overly cynical...Also ignoring the fact that women in America have CHOICES. You can choose to be a boring twit, or not, unlike women in so many other countries who actually HAVE to live this sort of life.... Yeesh, try dating a REAL woman sometime, person who put this together! |

Tuesday, March 18, 2008 3:12:33 PM Yes, but from what I've heard many people near me say, this vid is unfortunately more accurate than we'd like to believe. I'm not cynical per se, I'm more of an optimist that vomits sunshine, but occasionally there are those moments that make me go, "oh crap! ABORT! ABORT!" And it's not that I can't appreciate the little things in life, it's that one would also like some not so little things too. |

Tuesday, March 18, 2008 2:31:31 PM Amen, offlinex. The woman in this video makes it sound as if anyone who does these things (gets married, has a family, etc.) is somehow fooling themselves into being unhappy. Well, I've seen plenty of people who opt for the solo life and who wind up regretting it as pathetic middle-aged bachelor/ettes who start looking for these things too late. There's nothing wrong with being intellectually curious, travelling, and being independent and strong, whether you're a man or a woman. But it's ridiculous to suggest that you can't be all of those things and also have a family or a marriage. It's cynical people like this who are messing up our society. Everyone is constantly looking for perfection, and that's why they don't stick with one person. Stop looking for perfection! I sure as hell don't see it in the mirror, and I doubt that anyone else does! UGH! *been visiting IAB for years, and this vid is the one that finally motivated me enough to make a comment* |
