Sunday, March 02, 2008 3:56:24 PM It may be funny, but I think it's ridiculous how people are persecuted for poo they do on MySpace and the like. It's a personal page where you are honest (mostly) about yourself. You shouldnt have to constantly think about your personal things being leaked to the media. Our society is seriously going down hill if all we're doing with our time is finding stupid things on the internet and ruining people's lives and careers with juvenile highschool bull like this. That said, what the hell is a Mayor doing with a MySpace, let alone half naked pictures on it? I understand the whole idea of privacy and her right to post them, but that's just kind of stupid to begin with.

Saturday, March 01, 2008 2:56:00 PM It's ridiculous that she lost her job over that. I hate the fact that a woman can lose her job if she's seen as being sexually promiscuous, but a man will have no problem. It makes me furious. |

Friday, February 29, 2008 1:00:56 PM Kwame Kilpatrick (Mayor of Detroit, MI) has screwed things up even worse than that, and he's still mayor. She should have kept her job, people wear bikines that looks similar. |

Thursday, February 28, 2008 10:22:10 PM want to talk about why they voted and how they voted says alot, also the fact that it was such a narrow margin says alot too. |

Thursday, February 28, 2008 10:21:15 PM Dude.... My google suggests porn instead of my name? That is funny.Anyway thanks for the fix on moot. I tried it and it just looked so wrong to me, so I decided I was just weird and that it was actually mute. but ya.... She wasn't fired she was recalled. Fired implies someone higher up dismissed her, when in reality it was the voters that relieved her of her position. Also the town isnt full of old people or uptight conservatives, as the newscaster said there were other issues and from the responses of the community it sounds like the golf thing and the pictures weren't the full story. And lastly I would've recalled somone with an attitude like that regardless of their pictures. A surprising number of our local polititions in Oregon seem to have attitude issues. Knowing the way our local news works (and KATU is included in that) the photos were the straw that broke the camals back, but it peeks more interest if the photos are the reason. The fact that people didn't |

Thursday, February 28, 2008 10:18:35 PM Oh and EstiloPanama, get off the high horse. Who are you to pick and choose who is worthy of being a role model. I'll grant you Britney went off the hinges but before she met K-Fed, she was fairly wholesome and was often cited as a model for women's empowerment. Anyway, it seems from your examples that it's impossible for women to be "empowered" (I hate that word) if they choose to pursue a career that portrays them as a sexual object. However, if they can't do that, you do to them whatever the opposite of empowerment is. Let everyone pick their own path, ok? PS: Hillary is a cold, combative, calculating and unappealing character, and her biggest claim to fame is being married to a President - hardly an "empowering" achievement. |

Thursday, February 28, 2008 10:09:40 PM Big whoop! She looks good for an older lady, looks like she works out.Don't get me wrong, I'm all for holding stupid slutty girls who do Girls Gone Wild accountable by considering their "performance" as a part of a public image they'd bring to a company during the hiring (read as rejecting) process. This is hardly the case though. It's easily as much as one would expect to see on the beach. However, if she had any political smarts, she'd keep the image to herself, or only reveal it to real friends who would not be offended or share it. That having been said, tiny towns where nothing ever happens love to make a big deal about nothing (especially since they couldn't play golf instead). |

Thursday, February 28, 2008 5:43:51 PM This lady has some bad role models as a kid. This is why young girls should not be looking up to Ms. Spears, prostitites, strippers, and porn stars. This is why we need more woman like Hillary. Real women who are not afraid to be brave and intelligent...always using their brains, not their bodies. That is true female empowerment. |
