Totally right.
And he isn't crazy, he simply exploits a certain image based on epatage. And people don't care much not because they don't give a damn about the country's politics, they just can't see a big problem about some guy who decided to play the fool. Every time he does an odd thing they have a good laugh and then vote for someone else.
