Friday, February 08, 2008 8:37:29 PM ok, seriousely, if you go to duncan donuts and places like that, at the end of the day they throw ALL OF THE FOOD AWAY!!! even if there is nothing wrong with it. its the law! and there is nothing wrong with it. The same goes for grocery stores. Because its past the sell by date they have to throw it away. you cant tell me if you found a can of soup in the cup board that was a week past its date that you wouldnt eat it.. because ITS STILL GOOD!!!! people like this are smart... too bad im not XD |

Friday, February 08, 2008 7:21:16 PM the food is perfectly fine if you get it out of a grocery store dumpster, since its only days after the sell by date, which is usually ages before the eat/best by date. btw ive alwals sorta wanted to do this really bad.. |

Friday, February 08, 2008 4:06:02 PM If I wanted to eat trash I would have become a bum. But I've found working TVs in the dumpster before. |

Friday, February 08, 2008 12:05:47 PM kappamu, are you sure he said "for"? the size of that kid, hes getting food from somewhere.there is nothign wrong with dumpster diving (except that its illegal to be rummaging through private property, if the trash is at the curb, its free-for-all). infact, i have 2 computers, a 36" tv and a projector all from the trash. but free section on craigslist or the local thrift store are much better. i just bought 3 suits (ralph lauren and Joseph A Bank) from goodwill for $30, and they look great. |

Friday, February 08, 2008 10:30:04 AM Psh, just move to Maine. It's pretty common for the dumps up here to have a little second-chance store, where people bring things that they'd normally just throw out, but that still works (or could work if you fixed it up a little). And you can take whatever you want for free. |

Friday, February 08, 2008 9:44:07 AM This has been documented by vice magazine. It's a new trend where people eat discarded food. It looks great, but apparently it taste like, well, garbage. You could be almost as sufficient while saving the need to created new items by shopping in a thrift stire. They throw out the stuff no one buys anyways. |

Friday, February 08, 2008 2:01:44 AM Dumpster diving was also featured in The F Word. You can get a 3-course meal from the garbage. It saddens me that so many good things still in working conditions, even a still slightly stale food is just thrown away. We're just too spoilt a society these days. |
