Friday, February 08, 2008 1:19:03 PM What I've read on the subject says it's more like a correlation in the same way that evolution is just a theory. Both are pretty much fact, but technically correlation and theory, respectively. But whatever, it's a trivial observation. |

Friday, February 08, 2008 4:57:18 AM it is scientific fact, I would never use the word lightly.it is fact that breastfeeding is better than formula. |

Thursday, February 07, 2008 12:48:09 PM Lets not use the word fact so lightly. There's a strong correlation between breastfeeding and healthier children. |

Thursday, February 07, 2008 3:42:14 AM fnkychkn - When you breastfeed, all the imunities you as a mother have built up go into your milk and are passed on to your child. It is scientific FACT that a child who is breastfed is more likely to grow up without allergies, hayfever, ear infections, eczema, asthma... the list really does go on. If a woman cant breastfeed, thats fine, but if a woman is just doing it because she hasnt bothered to educate herself, or because she gives a damn what some idiots will think of her in public then yeah, IMO she is a bad mother. |

Wednesday, February 06, 2008 3:38:42 PM I don't see much awkwardness. As stated, Big Bird is innocent. When he saw Buffy breastfeeding, his level of interest was not "OH MAMA CHECK THOSE THANGS OUT", but rather "What is this lady doing?"Big Bird rocks my childhood. Don't attack him. |

Wednesday, February 06, 2008 2:28:29 PM So,Ladysopal- if you don't breastfeed the rugrat, you're a bad parent? And what does ear infections ad allergies have to do with the topic? I'm not being mean, I'm just asking. |

Wednesday, February 06, 2008 1:06:28 PM I suppose you mean the neo-feminism, which is really just ridiculous political correctness with a hint of plain female superiority and not old-fashioned feminism which basically just wanted equality. |

Wednesday, February 06, 2008 1:03:55 PM Ellemnop - Its not called being a feminist, its called being a good mother, I hope to god you never have kids, because when they come home with allergies and ear infections you're going to have to explain to them that you didnt love them enough to give them the best start in life - because you cared more about what a handful of people thought of you than their health and well-being. |

Tuesday, February 05, 2008 9:11:13 PM Once upon a time, things like women having jobs made the general public uncomfortable, why did we continue to let them? |

Tuesday, February 05, 2008 2:57:05 PM "if it's something that makes the general public uncomfortable..then why continue to do it..."How about because its her RIGHT as a mother? How about because its what is best for her baby? Its extremly judgemental, and downright iggnorant of you to say that a mother shouldnt do it just because it makes you feel 'uncomfortable' "everyone has their own opinions, so let them have it." My opinion is that if I want to breastfeed in public, Im going to, and if you dont like it you can drat right off back to whatever rock you live under. |

Tuesday, February 05, 2008 2:35:42 AM "for your information, the sucking on a breast and the sucking on a bottle are two completly different things. A babys breastfeeding can be completly messed up by even one go on a bottle. If a woman is breastfeeding her child in public, then that is just her wanting to give her child the best start in life, so you should just back off with that judgemental bullsh*t. Oh, and, by the way, she has the LAW on her side." Who cares about the law, this has nothing to do with what's anyone is discussing. I really don't see how it's judgemental, if it's something that makes the general public uncomfortable..then why continue to do it... I really don't want to get into a full on argument about something over the internet...everyone has their own opinions, so let them have it. If women want to do what they want to do, no one can stop them...but i'm still going to squirm everything I see it going on. |

Monday, February 04, 2008 6:07:17 PM I'm still a bit surprised that was actually on a Sesame Street episode...You'd think they would have caught that. Of course, you'd be hard-pressed to find a replacement. Not too many "normal" people can talk like that. |

Monday, February 04, 2008 5:55:17 PM See, it's not really that creepy when you think about it in context of the character... and the show aswell. But yeah, it *was* amusing. |
