cool structure. poor ants... they should have shown the next part. they put an ant upside down on a petre dish and he holds up a 5 gram weight with his teeth. it's amazing. |

For all you fing morons complaining about killing the ants, you damn well better have never eaten a hamburger, a piece of chicken or anything else that was once alive. You also have better not ever dropped a bug bomb or roach bait to get rid of some insects or swatted a fly. Oh wait, you did all those things? Then STFU. There is nothing wrong with killing those ants. Ants do not have feelings, they are not precious little snowflakes you need to protect. In many places they are fried and eaten, so STFU about the mean old scientist who killed an ant colony. Nobody cares for good reason you whiny tards. |

ok i am really impressed at that aswell but we are trying to personify the ants. They dont have board meetings and argue about where to build the next tunnel the simply have an inbuilt instinct to build each chamber depending on the flow of gasses in the hive. I'm not saying that it isn't impressive but you might aswell cream yourselves over a fish swimming or a bird building a nest... ZOMG how did it know where to put the twigs and then to work out how to lay an egg its amazing!!!! |

For those who oppose them being killed:1. Wake up and smell the fricking roses. Science kills. It's not pretty, but it gets stuff done. 2. There are tens or even hundreds of thousands more nests like that one. The buggers are everywhere. Removing one does almost nothing. |

Im with the ants they carried dirt 4 times their body weight for what in their terms would be half a mile and they wouldn't have done it just once. They build a massive city so their children and their childrens children will have somewhere nice to live and what.. some scientist hell bent on gettin some recognition because he lacks self confidence tips concrete in their creation killing millions of lives for a 6 minute clip! Humans should respect the sanctity of life! |

Wow. Firstly, that video is amazing. Secondly, I can't believe the amount of people who are sympathizing with ants. I'm sure you've never slapped off an ant when you saw one on you, or stepped on one accidentally, but how could you do that, you miserable person? At least the scientists were doing this for research. Living things kill each other, that's just a way of life. Get used to it, you guys are pathetic. |
