Monday, March 31, 2008 9:04:41 PM haha... held it in my hand, started to burn me so i tried to shake it off, but part of my skin melted or reformed... hurts but that was awesome! i realized im not supposed to keep it on the palm of my hand for over 1 minute... and i know what your gonna say and yes, i was really intrigued by fire... especially since i could hold it... |

Saturday, March 08, 2008 12:43:40 PM What I'm telling you is that your wife is technically right. The blue part of the flame is the hottest, not the white part. But a manly man is more concerned about the real world – as we saw above (show her the graph), there's more total heat in the tip of the flame, so that's the part you want to use to light the fire. In other words, while she's got a better grasp of theory, you're going to get the fire lit sooner. I'm not saying you won't get an argument as far as your bet goes.Taken from http://www.straightdope.com/mailbag/mhot... etc. I still don't know which way to think. |

Saturday, January 12, 2008 5:58:35 PM It's really hard to not get fluid on your hands if all you have is something out of a twist-cap bottle. You might want to burn the liquid off of your hands before you play with the ball. Hurts a lot less. /experience |

Friday, January 11, 2008 7:41:07 PM def works, tried it and it was pretty fun. btw try it indoors, yeah the lighter fluid smells but the wind outside will make the flame go everywhere and burn your hand (experience) heh, but overall it was pretty cool. no need to even make a ball just pour some fluid on some pure cotton and fire. . whatever shape it is. though keep a bucket/bowl of water around. |

Friday, January 11, 2008 7:36:30 PM omg!! this is sooo awsome im s0 trying it tomorrow... i just need to get some lighter fuel =( i dont have any of that... and to Tomolenko: "Somethings telling me that he's learnt from experience when it says "it may get your hands and they will also light up".." he still wouldnt have burnt himself because the fire would die out when all the fuel he got in his hands is burnt... i know cuz ive done it... only with hairspray on my hand though |
