This is stupid. The iPhone is meant to entertain people why they're on a trip, waiting for someone while they're shopping, or in a place with no TV's. Another thing is that the quality of videos on the iPhone are amazing and it doesn't matter what size it is I can still appreciate the video. Yes, I would rather watch it on a big a** plasma screen TV but since I can't take that with me on the occasional trip I take every now and then I have the iPhone. |

Im surprised that, considering that at least half of the people who commented on this page were confident the iphone 'sucks', none of you has put any half assed reasoning behind your ignorant, narrow-minded bashing of it. I assume most of you are trying to jump on your little non-conformist boat by taking a firm position against a popular device that most normal people would very much like to own. And then there was the guy who said he hated people who owned the iphone. Wow. Making premeditated assumptions about the personality of people who own a certain brand of phone before you even meet or know them is about as ignorant as it gets. As for the video, there is no comedic value to this clip. "A guy who says video on iphone sucks". Thats about it. So before you tools go around bashing people again because of the phone they like, try to realize that you are refusing to get to know a guy because he bought a certain something at some point in his life. Get a life... |

My 2 cents:
The man is an extremely talented director and healer. I'd be disappointed if he hadn't gotten around to making this argument....even if he is not entirely able to support it on his own because of funding issues for his films, particularly the last one. His last film is best seen on a huge cinema screen. (Too bad the fact that it has no American distributor means that people in most towns won't be able to see it the way it was meant to be seen. I'm lucky or spoiled or both because there were three different showings of INLAND EMPIRE on the big screen where I live...be that as it may....) even seeing it at home on DVD really diminishes the experience. I cannot imagine seeing IE on an iphone, or even trying to. But I think iphones are ridiculous anyway. The bottom line is vastly depressing; but Lynch for decades has been taking the exact same bottom line and transforming it into something much better. Now, that's not something that most people can do. End of ramble. |

i wonldnt care one way or the other about the iphone if people who had them didnt act like god blessed them with a miracle in the form of a iphone and then proceed to spread the message of how great is it as if they are jesus. i personaly hate the phone. from the first time i saw one i hated it. after i played around with one that belonged to a friend of my sister i hated it even more. the touch screen mitigates any usefulness it might have had. i can open my phone with one hand and call anyone im in regular contact with without looking in a matter of seconds. i dont need a bigger screen then the one i have to tell me what time it is it that i have a missed call. im not a 6 year old who cant go 3 minutes without something entertaining me cause i was raised by a tv. if you cant go a day without an mp3 player of a device to play videos in your pocket i feel sorry for you. its fine to embrace new technology but dont worship it. |

I read an interview with F. Coppola saying the same thing... I think Lynch might mean, don't say you saw 'Film X' if you only saw it on an iPhone; as films need to be seen at least with the quality they were intended and deserve. Movies on the other hand... |
