He's been saying the entire time that his arm is cut off... there's gonna be some blood!"Her job is to try to help him stay calm and out of shock. She is asking him simple questions to calm him down and try to distract him somewhat from what just happened (kinda pointless on something this big but worth a shot), I'm sure she knew there was a lot of blood and was just trying to do her job....or she is a complete moron, which is quite possible. |

Just because you do something desperate, it doesn't make you a hero. Survival brings out the most uncivilized and inhuman qualities of a person, either for better or for worse. |

Getting yourself into a situation where the only way out is to cut off your arm is not heroic. It's not like he saved someone else's life. He's a moron for getting in that situation (no one knowing where he was, etc.) in the first place. |

This guy's a Knock-off Nigel though I'm afraid. You'll never beat the rock climber who had to cut his arm off with a penknife. Hero. |

Oh, and just an after-thought(sorry):
I actually know a guy who's dad got his arm caught in a tractor, and had to cut it off. And then wasn't there that climber guy who wrote the book about cutting off his own arm? Or was it a leg? |

He sounds like when a little kid gets hurt, and they start hyperventilating(sp?), and they can barely talk. It was rather frustrating for me when that happened as a child, 'cause I'd almost pass out from not breathing right. I can only imagine how frustrating it would be for him as a grown man. |

Did anybody catch at the bottom of the article it is said, "His name is not being released right now," however, the victim IS named further up in the piece? "His son said Robert Kerstetter, 52, was greasing a machine at 4:30 a.m. Wednesday when his right arm got caught in the machine." |
