"The safety factor is............unsafe" Looks safer than riding bicycles in the street, like they do here in Oregon. At least you've got some armor around you. I guess the danger is for whatever you hit (at 5 mph top speed) |

How is that car less safe than a Bicycle on the road? If bicycles are allowed on the road then the car seems legitimate. It was a little bit inane but not unsafe. |

The cops where in the wrong, other than they might have been going under the minimum speed limit. not sure what the law is in Canada though.In CA: Minimum Speed Law 22400. (a) No person shall drive upon a highway at such a slow speed as to impede or block the normal and reasonable movement of traffic, unless the reduced speed is necessary for safe operation, because of a grade, or in compliance with law. other than that it should just be seen as an oversized bike so they didn't even have the legal right to ask to see his drivers licence. |

Pedal quad bikes and even rickshaws are allowed on TO streets but something like this would be a hazard since it probably can't maneuver or stop quickly enough. |

You can't get plates for it at the 'Department of Motor Vehicles', because there is no motor. License plates are not required for non mototized vehicles in the US anyway |

drating pigs. And I think, in the UK at least, it would count as a pedal quadricycle, similar to a bike. Which means no need for plates, although a sign on the back reading "Pedal Car" or something would probably help avoid being pulled over all the time.
Is poo slow though, mainly because it's a big heavy lump of metal. A custom-built pedal car, using lightweight materials and an aerodynamic body, would be MUCH faster, ouptacing a standard bicycle. |
