I worked on the sister ship of this one, The Navigator of the Seas briefly (as part of training). They were at the time the equal 2nd biggest ship in the world, 2nd to QM2. Now they'd be number 3 because the Freedom of teh seas was released last year. The photos don't really do it justice. Especially the promenade deck. It's like a street or mall in the middle of the ship, with glass ceilings 5 or 6 decks above the paved 'street', lined with shops. They are massive ships. You realise how long when you walk from one end to the other along the crew corridor, nicknamed the I95.

What's the point of being at sea when you'll just distract yourself with everything you get on land?

It seems like a lot of people are knocking cruises without ever having been on one. I have been on a few, and they're some of the most fun I've ever had. So they're a little crowded sometimes, but it's hard to notice when you're watching shows, relaxing, drinking, gambling, playing sports, enjoying delicious food (available 24 hours a day), and meeting interesting people from all over the country.

I went on a cruise on the sister ship of this one. It was called the Navigator of the Seas, whereas this one is Eplorer of the Seas (all the Royal Caribbean ships are something of the seas). It looks the same as the one I was on. It was kickass.

The company that I work for has a division that builds these. We've built the 3 largest cruise ships on the water.

I just wish I could get a discounted trip on one.

not as big as the QM2, otherwise I would have heard about it...then again, IAB counts as 'hearing about it'... I'd better check the news.
