Tuesday, October 23, 2007 3:21:14 AM Meh, didn't seem like that bad of an avalanche. The killer ones are the ones you don't have time to run away from... lets just hope that was a light-fluff one and that when the snow settles it hasn't buried the house as the avalanche has expended its momentum.. THAT.. or the backdoor isn't covered or their roof has a door, lol. Still neat though. |

Sunday, October 21, 2007 11:16:33 AM FFS. you REALLY can't figure out the expression near miss? its a miss, THAT WAS NEAR YOU. like if a baseball goes whizzing by your head at ninety-five miles per hour, but MISSES, it was a near miss. near becomes an adverb discribing miss. |

Saturday, October 20, 2007 9:02:24 PM ^ I agree. Where I work, if a safety "near miss" occurs, it means someone "almost" got hurt. I never had understood that term; but hey, I'm just a brave, not a chief. |

Saturday, October 20, 2007 7:33:08 PM Near miss? That would mean they nearly missed....which means they got hit . The term should be "near HIT"I liked the Woohooing more than the actual avalanche, tbh. |

Saturday, October 20, 2007 3:43:09 PM Wow... if you watched an avalanche rocket towards you only to just barely miss you at the last second... you'd "woohoo" also. |

Saturday, October 20, 2007 2:56:33 PM You morons, woo-hoo wasn't being shouted by the people, it was being shouted by the avalanche. What a ride! |

Saturday, October 20, 2007 11:01:39 AM "woo-hoo" - the generally accepted sound made by someone who being blinded by the beauty of an event, cannot recognize the obvious imminent danger of the situation. Individuals emitting the "woo-hoo" sound usually have (through inheritance or by birth) more money than intelligence to comprehend both beauty and danger in one package. |
