OMG... I can't believe people are continuing to post comments that this is a fake and that the image actually changes direction. Don't you people bother reading the previous posts? There are plenty of people by now who have explained the nature of the moving 2-D image and how to make your brain see it going in the opposite direction. Just read back a little and look at it again with an open mind. It is an honest optical illusion, not some animation trick.

come on. its not a left-right brain test. its just an optical illusion. put your hand or finger in front of your face, band rotate it any way you want, just dont look at it, and the dancer will rotate the way your finger does. |

First it was going creative, then I started saying "I'm a logical person, everything has to make sense, I can't invent things, I wont beleive anything unless it's proven, etc." and BOOM. It changed. Then off I went "I'm a creative person, I love to beleive things, I love to invent things and invent different ways to do things, etc." and it changed back to clockwise. Cool, I tricked my own brain :) |

I don't know if anyone else has mentioned this in 10 pages of comments, but if you can only see it going in one direction, try blocking everything out except the stationary foot. Just watch that foot and it will look like it's only doing a half circle going back and forth. It's easier to convince yourself it's making a full circle in the opposite direction that you usually see it in by just watching the foot, then once you have the path in your head you can look at the full picture and it will be rotating the direction you want. |

When she is rotating clockwise, you imagine that her right foot is the foot that is up.When she is rotating counterclockwise, you imagine that her left foot is the foot that is up. The fact that the reflection of her foot is there and that it is on a white background is the key to getting it to change at whim. |

The secret is in the ankle of the stationary foot. Because you can only see the silhouette, the foot goes either behind or in front of the ankle from there, the dancer takes the form of your mind's illusion of the ankle. It is easier for me to see her turning to the left. |

lol i managed to do a neat trick. i made her move back and forth every time she turned for a few seconds. It's basically a state of mind. If you find the illusion, it's pretty simple to master it. |

wow, i saw right first, had no idea how anyone can see it the other way, looked back, focused on the optical illusion on what could make it seem to be going the other way, i look away for a milisecond, and it changed! Repeated, it changed back! |
