Friday, October 12, 2007 1:17:21 AM If you need help figuring this out Check out these explanations I came up with to help explain what was going on to a mate. Read the explained jpeg first, then whatch the 2 edited gifs to show the ballerina spinning in either direction. Explained Anti-clockwise Clockwise

Friday, October 12, 2007 12:31:21 AM It's all in her outstretched leg. Depending on whether you see it as her left leg or right leg depends on which way she is turning. If you perceive it as her left, she is spinning to the left. Same with right. I can switch between the two at will. |

Friday, October 12, 2007 12:16:13 AM You can just look at the bottom left corner to see it anti-clockwise. But then it turns back... |

Thursday, October 11, 2007 11:20:35 PM Looking at the shadow makes me see it the other way, although every time I look at it afresh, it's clockwise. |

Thursday, October 11, 2007 10:13:00 PM If you look at her shadow it is easier to make her go counter-clockwise or clockwise. You just have to concentrate on which way you want her shadow to go then look up at the dancer and it will be going that way. Weird! |

Thursday, October 11, 2007 10:08:38 PM If you stare at the "whole picture", the black and the shadow, you will most likely see it going counter-clockwise. If you just ignore the shadow, it will go clockwise. Try covering up the shadow, and then try focusing on the shadow. The results will be different. |

Thursday, October 11, 2007 9:01:09 PM Scratch that. Not only do I see both ways, I can visually alter her direction at will. |

Thursday, October 11, 2007 8:57:04 PM Counter-clockwise. My attempts to persuade her to rotate the other way have ended in stubborn failure. |

Thursday, October 11, 2007 7:42:24 PM I got my brother down here and we definitely saw it going opposite ways at the same time. I can make it go counter, but most of the time it's just clockwise for me. Which is weird, because I am definitely way more logical. |

Thursday, October 11, 2007 7:00:32 PM 'huh.. i saw it going both ways. i'd look at it, then after a while it'd turn the other way..... is that normal? o.O'Same here, I'm like "Dude is this just how you percieve it?" but I dunno, maybe it's just the brain. Hey wait-- So it's logical that she is going counter-clockwise and you have to be creative to think she's going clockwise? That's f*cking lame. |

Thursday, October 11, 2007 6:17:40 PM ahh this makes my brain hurt. but i noticed that if you stare at the legs, when she is going counter-clockwise her left leg is swinging, and when she is going clockwise her right leg is swinging. it keeps changing back and forth for me. |
