Wednesday, October 10, 2007 5:08:04 PM I was watching it a while and it started going counterclockwise! But it started clockwise, so I'm more creative? |

Wednesday, October 10, 2007 5:00:13 PM the only problem is the reflection isn't logically possible unless she's traveling counter clockwise.ironic! |

Wednesday, October 10, 2007 4:55:20 PM Vikstar and a few others have it right. It's just a 2-d image. If you want to check that, go to page four and look at the image posted there. The central image is the same one used for both directions. The difference between seeing it counter-clockwise or clockwise is in whether you believe the leg travels in front of the body from left to right (Counter-clockwise), or behind the body from left to right (Clockwise). The arms, breasts and hair are all as ambiguous, going in front or behind depending on which way you see it rotating. |

Wednesday, October 10, 2007 4:23:25 PM Yeahhh... I think this is fake. At first, she was going counter-clockwise and there was just no way I could envision it any other way. Then she started going clockwise and I was like, WTF how was that ever going counter-clockwise? I just don't see how. I mean, there is NO way. |

Wednesday, October 10, 2007 4:20:01 PM So, basically this isn't left/right brained, but an optical illusion? I'm a tad confused. |

Wednesday, October 10, 2007 4:19:29 PM I cant see how the dancer could spin in counter clockwise. I've watched for a while and she still dances clockwise. |

Wednesday, October 10, 2007 4:08:22 PM i dont think it has anything to do with right or left brains. i think it just changes randomly which way it goes. its rigged. most people wont sit and stare at it for 5 minutes, but if they do, they see it change. its just a polygonal figure being rotated either way randomly. nothing to do with your brain. |

Wednesday, October 10, 2007 4:05:55 PM At first I saw her turn counter-clockwise, then I looked at just her feet and could see her go clockwise. For those of you who insist that it's switching direction, or it's only going one way and those of us who see it differently are nuts, you should read some of the previous comments more carefully. It is not "spinning" at all... it is a 2-D image without shading that is simply changing. Whether you perceive the leg as moving in front of her as it moves from right to left (c-clockwise) or as moving behind her as it moves from right to left (clockwise), determines which way you think she's "spinning". And to the person who thinks the shadow "proves" that she's spinning clockwise, that completely depends on where you assume the light source is located. So it's a perfectly valid optical illusion. As to whether it's a valid test of right brain vs left brain, I'm less sure. |
