Until the fifth time, I realized it was playing BOTH the high and original note.

thaaat definitely didnt do anything

I'm very involved in orchestral and symphonic music, so I merely heard the same thing over and over again

If you wait about two seconds after it stops it doesn't work.

I didn't feel like re-starting it 5 times.

Dang it every time I go to watch a video on the computer I'm expecting something to jump out & go "RAWWWRR."
The internet has made me so paranoid.

"
caboose117, I think some people are interested in other people's explanations. It's comments like yours that no one is interested in."

all they did was play harmonic notes, and you're brain just picked up on the highest harmonic note when you replay it.

Am I the only weirdo who heard the same thing every time - just the same harmonics played over and over?!

This kinda thing only works with perfect tuning..if a piano is perfectly in tune it will work but if it isn't you wont hear the overtones, which are very important to the effect. Also a Music Major...

Also this effect tends not to work for those who played bass instruments like String bass, Trombone and Tuba.
