hohohohoho So cute!!! i got my awww of the day!!! but i was really looking forward to being able to laugh at the guy for calling a real animal "Pikachu" but he didnt! Pikachu was derived from the Pikas, no doubt about that.Pikas are lagomorphs...the same as rabits and hares. They are adorable Japanese critters, that's for sure. |

Just because of it's name does not make it a yellow mouse with red cheeks in which it shoots lightning, theres a difference. |

unfortunately I know that pikachu is not named after these cute animals (although I wish they were .... how cute is that pika?!). Pikachu is named for two onomatopoeias in japan. Pika Pika is the onomatopoeia for electriciy or sparks and chew is the sound that mice make when they squeek. So since Pikachu is an eletric mouse he's named Pikachu. |
