What cracks me up is how some europeans assume that, since bush won the election, that ALL americans side with bush and are warmongering morons like him. I understand you probably dont intend that, but that's the impression you're giving off here.

As far as I can tell, no country is any more vindicated than the next. Every country has it's marks in the black book. We as a human collective are evil creatures. To place particular blame on one country for an atrocity while ignorning others is ridiculous. "America is evil." "Iraq is evil." "France is evil." No, HUMANITY is evil. It just so happens that America dominates in one of the more flashy forms of it.

I guess we forget about the mustard gas the Germans liked to use during WWI, huh? Or the chemicals Saddam used on his own freakin country. We may be the only one to use the Nuke, but we're not the only one to use WMDs.

I agree with what we did. Had we invaded by ground, not only would a very large number of American Soldiers have died, but depending on how long they held up, as many or more Japanese could have died in the end.

For Japenese, surrender was the most shameful thing that you could do. That's why they would commit 'hari kari' on themselves (kill themselves) rather than be captured. So don't think if we would have dropped a bomb in the water that they would have just given up. That's just ignorant.

So yeah, we killed a lot of people that probably didn't deserve to die. But we ended a war that could have easily dragged on for years more and cost far more total lives had we not done it.

So of course when he decided to go into Iraq because of the 'WMDs', we were all for it. Hell, we were told that there were WMDs there. And then in 2004, yeah, we elected him again. What kind of sense would it make to elect a brand new president just as we invaded Iraq? None.

So say what you want. I don't like our president at all. But for you to say that we're stupid for voting for him twice, you really don't know what you're talking about. And I don't expect you to, you live in Europe.

I'm not blaming you guys or "daring" (please forgive me!) to blame present-day American children for the "sins of their fathers". Neither do I judge every German kid I meet on the standards of Adolf Hitler.

But as for the Iraq situation which you brought up, you guys brought this on yourselves. America voted for Bush (TWICE!) and so the populace has to be held accountable. Isn't that what Democracy is all about? You might not worry about Vietnam, good for you, personally I worry about it all the time, as in 'history repeating itself'.

I can't point the finger at President Truman cause he's dead. But I can point at Bush and ask "How did this f*ckwit become the most powerful man in the world? And what drove an austere nation to vote hime as their leader?".

Why do you blame those of us a generation or two down the road for this? If its the "sins of our fathers" crap, then yes, we have to deal with the effects, but don't you dare blame us...

Forget about testing, let's not forget that the only country to have ever actually USED a WMD in the whole of world history was the good ol' US of A. I'm talking about Hiroshima & Nagasaki for those who are a bit slow.

If America wanted to end WW2 quickly by showing their nuclear power, couldn't you guys have just set one off in the middle of the ocean? This would have sent the message to Tokyo, but without the 200,000 dead civilians. Like all the nuclear scientists who worked on the Manhattan Project (one of whom was Einstein himself) begged you to do?
