Tuesday, October 02, 2007 12:26:24 PM Is it just me, or do I see a milli-seconds worth of red at the end of the second jump near the ground, as if his body had just made contact with the earth which created an explosion of blood and guts. Hmmmm, maybe it's just the color of the parachute. |

Tuesday, October 02, 2007 11:05:16 AM Oh, my post was not total BS. I work at a skydiving center and I pack parachutes. I've also been skydiving before and my mom has 1700 jumps. I've been around the sport for almost 10 years. |

Tuesday, October 02, 2007 11:04:02 AM To IkeRay, they just never showed the parachute deploying on the video. I think that at the very end of the video he is deploying his canopy.Ditas: After having so many jumps on the same gear, you know how to use the gear. Those jumpers probably have thousands of jumps on that gear, so that's how they can get so close to the rocks. Also, they were probably falling at a speed of about 108 mph. Given they were wearing wingsuits, the average speed without a wingsuit is 120 mph. QBangah: It's not BS, it's called BASE jumping. DragonSageX: A lot of people do flips and things when they base jump, they just gotta make sure they jump far enough away from the cliff/antenna/building/bridge they're jumping off of. |

Tuesday, October 02, 2007 9:47:09 AM so, how did he land, that is the only part that seems BS to me. i never see a parachute deploy and he seems really close to the ground (especially the end of the second jump). |

Tuesday, October 02, 2007 4:48:25 AM Now THAT is falling with style!! 'Gliding,' if you prefer; either way, it must take some crazy skill(z) to prevent oneself from getting pasted to the side of a mountain. Also, HelmetCam FTW. |

Tuesday, October 02, 2007 4:00:20 AM Just curious, and I'm serious when I ask...but is the backflip necessary? In my head it seems like it..'cause if you jump straight off and if you start to lean forward from that position to get your legs horizontal behind you, your face is gonna go flying into the cliff isn't it? Just wondering is all. I'd be scared pooless to even do the backflip off the cliff if that's the case. :P |
